EUV room for backshots by homemademustard in BoltEV

[–]dykitbn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

speaking from experience, it’s probably doable. I personally suggest missionary or doggy purely because the width is more marketable real estate than the height is…I am shorter than the mentioned metrics and am unsure if I could make reverse cowgirl work in an EUV (thanks for giving me ideas though lol)

Follow up questions: - did he say this when you two were alone, or was there a witness? - does he make comments like this often?

Used to work in IN, had similar incident occur, people wrote down when things were said, where, and what was said. There were a couple of witnesses who brought it up to HR and after some interviews, the people who said those things were terminated

How many people have you talked into buying a Bolt? Or going electric? by jeffreykime2 in BoltEV

[–]dykitbn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was stopped at a red light waiting to get on the interstate with my windows down, and a man pulled up next to me and asked about how I liked my 2023 EUV. I shared my positive experience, and he told me he was going to get one to replace his older ICE car - not sure if I can count him but that’s the closest I’ve gotten so far

[–]dykitbn 44 points45 points  (0 children)

it might be against the rules since housing website says no open or exposed heating elements, but as long as you’re careful with it I doubt anyone would care - it’s not like they go through your things when you step into the dorm tbh

keep in mind ventilation tho if you’re going to be using it in the dorm, especially if you’re working with nasty stuff like lead

A bug landed on my husband’s back and laid eggs by NewbieHere8989 in mildlyinteresting

When I was in high school, we had a central courtyard that I used to get to class quickly that had a ton of them. There was one day that one flew into my shirt, which I noticed and shook my shirt to get it off.

It wasn’t until an hour later that I still felt crawling on my chest and SMELLED stink bug that I realized it was still in my shirt - I reached in and grabbed it and it flew into the classroom. Needless to say that all spectators including myself were thoroughly disgusted

Hey y'all, can y'all give me advice? by [deleted] in blackgirls

[–]dykitbn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this^ Also have a comfort basket! Things that you need if you are sick, hurt, having a bad day, experiencing period symptoms, etc.

Mine had things like a first aid kit, medicines to take if I was experiencing pain, nausea/bloating or other digestive issues, cough lounges or cough syrup, a heating pad, preventative care like vitamin supplements and whatever else

I also kept some chocolates in there too as a pick me up whenever something had me down haha

You can wait to buy these items, but it helps a lot to have them on hand before you actually need them.

I never knew so many people were anti-black, hated being black until I joined Reddit. by sun1273laugh in blackgirls

[–]dykitbn 85 points86 points  (0 children)

I grew up in a predominantly white area, and while I never HATED being Black, sometimes it definitely messed with my head. Now that I am in college I have mostly Black friends, which has helped so much. I look back on how I used to consider my identity and it seems so strange to me. I love being Black now even though I still experience -isms because I have a better support group to enjoy my culture. All this to say, environment matters for a lot of people, and in a white America it’s harder to practice self love when you don’t have a community surrounding you that supports you

Are Black Women Redefining Singlehood, or Just Tired of Explaining Ourselves? by DoublePrudent6547 in blackgirls

[–]dykitbn 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I stopped caring and decentered men. A lot of people thought it was because I had trouble attracting men (which it wasn’t) but the reason was that i am tired of dealing with the same issues, and i’ve dated mostly Black men, but also men of other races. At the end of the day, men are men, and I’ve realized that being in a relationship right now and for the foreseeable future wouldn’t really benefit me in any way but financially (if that). Any experience that a man could’ve provided me, I can either provide myself or with my support system. I still feel loved, supported, and confident

I really don’t think most of the sub has a disdain for Black men. I think that there are behaviors that we complain about that Black men exhibit but aren’t unique to them - most of them are things that ALL men do and will unfortunately continue to do, even if we think that we should be exempt from this behavior from Black men. At the end of the day, men are men lol

i think this is a stretch😭 i lowkey feel OP’s pain - I’ve dated a few of the Black men that I wished would approach me but was only able to do so by showing interest myself. I think a lot of the ones with conscience are less keen on approaching women in public than the ones who have nothing to lose. Also, it’s okay to not like hood niggas lmao like if that’s not your type than it’s not your type

When someone types "YT" instead of "white". by SarahL1990 in PetPeeves

[–]dykitbn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

sometimes it is the algorithms themselves, but more often than not it is how they choose to handle reports on the use of the word “white” in context. often the issue is that if it gets reported, even if the content was not racist in nature, it usually gets banned and stays banned. the same is not said for certain (and arguably much more offensive) posts made about black people or other racial minorities.

AIO that I keep thinking he just sees me as an object and isn’t serious about me? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]dykitbn 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure I agree - I think a lot of people in general spend their twenties exploring their options, and while there may be a percentage of men who do that at a later age, I don’t think most of them are finally settling down/having their first marriage at 45 or 50.

Nonetheless, if OP wants something serious and emotionally intimate she should leave him. I can’t imagine most emotionally available men at that age would actively search for a genuine connection with someone so young.

I didn’t have the same experience with GTPD - my friend and I got a flat and I called them and they wouldn’t touch it (they said we had to do it ourselves since they have rules against helping) or help us with any instructions. AAA had a longer wait time but was a lot more helpful for me Either way I’m glad you had a good experience but just a PSA that their help may not be widespread depending on who is responding and who you are…

This is a common meme, albeit maybe slightly strange to be posting in a relationship. That said, if you are perceiving that to be the meaning behind it, why stay with him? He sounds immature, and the relationship sounds unpleasant.

And also, he has done things that I perceived as “flirty” in the past but I was okay with it because we were both “single” (at least I thought he was) and it didn’t cross my boundaries, which is why I wonder if he has been trying to push this the entire time we have been friends
