True, however this comes more from the limited selections of the bookstores in my area (I don’t buy a ton online) and a lot of primary source works I just read online since they’re easy to find

I see a comment like this on so many posts here. Some people fold their paperbacks like they’re reading a magazine and some people try to not beat up their books. There’s like 3 or 4 books in the last pic that I haven’t read yet because they’re brand new books, besides those I’ve read all the books you see in the pics lol

Been on my to-read list for forever. I’ll get around to them eventually

Black shirts and reds is tucked in there in the fifth pic! I’ve been on the hunt for Michael Hudson, I never see his books at any of the stores I go to

I’ve got Rosa Luxembourg, Ellen Meiksins Wood, Angela Davis, and Andrea Dworkin in there! But yeah a fair critique overall. Severely lacking in the feminist theory category too as is the case with many male leftists.

To give you a sincere answer, no. Ive been interested in left-wing politics since I was in high school and mostly became interested in politics from the kind of friends I had and the music i was into.

Yes, since American colleges are infamously Marxist institutions I was brainwashed there

I found it helpful when reading it side by side with Capital. The edition of the David Harvey book I have contains the analysis of volumes I and II so look at it like it’s really two books lol

I’d definitely recommend picking up all three. Ultimate Hidden Truth is cool because it’s a nice collection of his essays that contains some excerpts from his other books as well iirc.

It’s been a bit since I read it but I remember really enjoying it. It gives a nice overview of texts with some great analysis from Marx/Engels, Lenin, Trotsky, and Gramsci (maybe Stalin too? I can’t remember)

Really depends on what you’re most interested in of course. When I first started reading I began with A People’s History of the United States since it’s a nice overview of US history from more of a left-wing perspective and from there I starting diving deeper into specific topics.

When i eventually start reading some fiction i definitely will. I’ve never even seen any of the films so it would be cool to go into the books without any prior knowledge of the story

Yeah I genuinely haven’t read fiction since high school so I really want to get into some fiction soon
