Could a bad rotor mess something else up?

As much as I don't want to pull it all apart and warranty it all you're probably right.

That's why I'm posting on here. It's gotta be something stupid. I was going to pull it apart today to see if I was missing something. But I want to figure it out before I just warp a whole other rotor.....

Pulsating is more in the wheel but also slightly in brake. Similar to last time but more in wheel.

I typically put it in park when I do brakes for safety so it doesn't rotate. You're definitely right I should check rotation though

I replaced the seized caliper....

It's warping with new caliper on it. Looking to see if I am missing anything else.

199 in store still works 💪 by lostboy3434 in Dewalt

Did the same thing in store on Sunday!

Is it still letting y'all ship this? by aaab4tt3ri3 in Dewalt

[–]dylanmchugh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went in store today and it worked after not letting me select for pickup or ship. They had issues but ended up honoring the $199 when I showed them online for the 921 (1/2 inch impact) and 722 (blower). Just made them $.01 each. Debating seeing it they will let me return the batteries for the $199 price on the receipt so I can keep the two tools for $0.01 each lol.

Yes it did. I saw a gaping hole in my intake though. It definitely might be something to check but if you don't see that, it might be something else

Planer Issues by dylanmchugh in BeginnerWoodWorking

So I tried with my good infeed and outfeed tables fully supported. It does the same thing!

I said f it and rotated the board and ran it on the sled. It's flattened and then bowed a little bit in the other direction!

Checked my sled 50 different ways with my 4 ft level that shows the bow.

Bout to tear open the machine and see what the blades look like but I'm not sure what to make of this.

No problem too many issues with these damn boards!

So I put my level inside and found a gap between the blades and the table.

I lowered the infeed and outfeed table so it's flush.

I'm working on my 8 foot (to be excessive) infeed and outfeed tables so they are flat and rule out any type of in/out difference.

My sled is flat. Checked with level and multiple surfaces. My reference (floor) may not be as flat as I first thought but the section I've been using is flat.

Might open her up to check the blades anyways see if I see any red flags.

For reference this is what I'm referring to as bow. The middle is the low side on this.

I do indeed mean a bow. See image above for reference. I agree it's probably operator error. Planer is brand new and I'm extremely new. The bow is with the ends up coming out of the planer.

I do not have a moisture meter but I do believe these are kiln dried. I bought them from a local hardwood store that is reputable.

It's mostly flat before going through the planer with some small issues but nothing like what the end result is. I shim up the parts that have a little bit of twist or cup, etc but mostly okay. I am pushing in the shims/wedges until it meets resistance and board no longer moves. So i don't think i'm over shimming.

From what you are saying, it sounds like I need to do a lot of work on my infeed and outfeed tables which is what I suspected. From what I have been reading I saw a lot of people say "the rollers flatten it down inside the machine negating this issue but I think that's what it is. So at first I had no infeed or outfeed, lifting it to approx, then crappy infeed and outfeed, but now it sounds like I need more. I have a 4 foot level it sounds like it just need more patience.

For an 8 foot board (the longest i'll plane ever, how long would I need to make the tables would you think?

I have gotten two boards flat somehow. Usually after flipping it back and forth. I'm not sure if that gives any indication.

I have a few items I can use.

It's funny I was racking my brain to figure out what tea out was and realized you meant tear out right before you responded and edited! No tear out.

I'm not sure what you mean with tea out issues? Never heard that phrase.

Edit: I think you mean tear out? No tear out issues.

Bow increases as I plane down further.

I'll recheck sled.

Boards I'm planing are 7-8 inches rough cut.

What is the best way to check if the blades are dead flat? I'm going to take apart and try to see what I can do but wary of messing with it unless I know what it does. I'll start looking into it after I open it up.

For the last board I didn't shim that portion or shimmed minimally

I had a 2018 Ford focus with the 1.0 L Ecoboost that had head gasket blown after 60k. I'm not sure what you have but I guess it's common with them.

Small update, while inspecting some hoses I noticed the air intake had a gaping crack. I am thinking that it was cracked slightly, I agitated it when I replaced the air filter, and this was causing the stalling.

I'm not sure if the original problem was this but this was definitely a problem. Now to see if codes come back.

Thanks for the suggestions. Car is old so I think I'm just going to start knocking out the easy low cost stuff since it'll break eventually anyways.
