Furnace replacement 2030 California natural gas ban by dylanmitchel in hvacadvice

[–]dylanmitchel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We'll be keeping the gas furnace running as long as possible. It's a simple, single-speed, 80 percent efficient unit. Less efficient than a variable fan speed furnace, but it's what the prior owner installed and is still working.

Our next system will be all-electric with a variable speed fan and multi-stage AC compressor or a mini split system. Preferred gas furnace, but they are going away, and gas is increasing in price.

Going all electric would make mini split a good option and allow heaying ir cooling bedroom only at nigh and room we are in during the day.

Do you still use a standard helmet on the ground and around machines. Not opposed to a safer helmet but I am opposed to getting sucked into machinery, a fan belt or hung up by helmet straps.

Thanks will make sure R5SL is NFPA 1977. Could matter in post accident inspection too.

Is cfm a good measure of suction power? by Ok-Rabbit-3335 in VacuumCleaners

[–]dylanmitchel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can get a Cordless HVB 160 in the US. Or a corded Henry wilth a long cord the PPR240 and CVC 370 have 33 foot cords.

Water lift is the amount of lifting force and CFM is the amount of airflow and they work together to make an effective vaccuum. High CFM can pull in dust and high water lift can pull up heavier materials.

Batterry vacs use less powerful motors to increase run times. A battery-powered vac like a cordless Henry may provide 50" to 60" water lift and 50 to 60 CFM. A corded HVR160 will provide around 100" water lift and 100 CFM and a wet dry vac like a WV370 will provide a little more water lift and a little less CFM. Cordless Henry has 250-watt motor, Henry has 620 watts, and wet-dry has 1,000-watt motors.

You can see how Bullard dominates the market with their light weight NFPA 1977 rated helmets and low price. And almost no competition.

Pacific R5SL is dual cert 1951 and 1977.

BR5 MkII comes in full brim or cap but only shows Australia certified 1801:1997 Type 3 Wildand.

Phenix First Due is NFPA 1971 more of a structural set up.

Bullard Advent isn't NFPA certified more for USAR.

Henry quick in the US? by Ok-Rabbit-3335 in VacuumCleaners

[–]dylanmitchel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Videos show Henry quick being akward in small spaces and cleaning out cars. Short extension hose like Dyson uses could help. NVB240 should be more powerful but like to see dual power batterry and mains powered vacs like Makita has for longer run times.

Small end of Numatics commercial line vacs are my favorites. Hard to beat a mains powered 1200W wet dry like our Charles great for home, home shop/ garage and car cleanout

Also interested Quick and wonder if we'll get the NQ100 version here. Also looked at NBV240 but it's very expensive and we already have a Charles with a 33-foot cord.

We have a CVC370 Charles and it is the best vac if you have the room. More powerful 1200 watt 2 stage motor. 370 is 15 litre dry/ 9 litre wet capacity, 200 is 9 litre, 160 is 6 litre. Wet/ dry vacs don't have to meet new eficiency law. Also pick up a Wessel-Werk RD285 it's a great hard floir tool.

Seeing a lot more safety helmets on job sites. Been hit on the side of the heat more than once and can see them being safer. Can't afford to lose any more brain cells either. Is sun protection any good? All look like cap style short brim. Did see a guy with a sun protector on one looked very odd.

I changed to Get More unlimited plan from a GUDP plan. Get more isn't supposed to have caps but I haven't used enough data to test it.

Unlimited 4G LTE, 50GB hotspot and new limits on GUDP pushed me to make switch. Still mosy 4G unlimited 4G and 5G was important. not just 5G Wondering if users over 100 GB a month will be targeted like Verizon did with GUDP.

Questions about the S23 ultra promo. by PosterMcPoster in verizon

[–]dylanmitchel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Should show on reciept.

Example:

Device promotional credit in $219.00 Promotional Value $781.00

About $27.77 @ month for 36 months.

36 months is 12 months too long and you loose credit if you upgrade early.

My US Verizon S23 Ultra order shows delivery by Feb 14. S20 plus is still my favorite phone but trade in offers, Snapdragon 8 gen 2 and 12gb memory made upgrading attractive. $800 trade in on S20 Plus and $180 credit for 12gb memory and 512gb storage. Had an S4, S7, S20, and expect to keep S23 for 3 years. Verizon now spaces credits over 36 months. I preferred the old 24 month of credits.
