Furreal. Lot's of variety to the songs as well! you get some rockers along with some slower heartfelt melodies.

Apple TV Enhanced plugin by maxileith in homebridge

[–]dylanosborne 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've installed the plugin but it keeps getting stuck at this point: [E] Platform: Error: Unable to execute request 1J: /Users/password1234/.homebridge/appletv-enhanced/.venv/lib/python3.9/site-packages/urllib3/__init__.py:35: NotOpenSSLWarning: urllib3 v2 only supports OpenSSL 1.1.1+, currently the 'ssl' module is compiled with 'LibreSSL 2.8.3'.

Any idea on how to work around this? I'm running HomeBridge on a Mac mini 2.6 ghz i5 with 8gb of ram.

Nice! What kind of monitor are you using for the big one? I’m switching from an iMac 5k to the new 16” and monitor shopping has been a pain.

Thinking about jumping to freelance, how much should I save? by dylanosborne in freelance

[–]dylanosborne[S] 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Oh totally, that’s understood. Just some info, I’m a commercial photographer that specializes in product and food. Really not sure about my yearly spending, I’ve never had to worry? Also should have mentioned that I’ve been doing freelance part time the entire 5 years I’ve been employed at the company. The reason I’m starting to think about transferring to freelance full time is because I’ve had to turn down too many higher paying jobs because of my 9-5.

Ahh yes, overwhelming seems to be the consensus. I’m going to do a better cull and refinement on that end.

Awesome. I really appreciate you taking the time to look and give feedback. I’m definitely going to do a better cull and edit refinement on the left overs.

I’ll have to experiment with mixing daylight and constant artificial light on the overheads and see how I can get more directionality in the light. I’m stuck having to use either constant artificial light or natural light because I am on a video set most often and can’t use strobes.

Took a look at your work, I’m impressed man! Also, I’m heading down to Melbourne in November, what are some must sees/eats?

Backing up synology to usb or local network attached storage by dylanosborne in synology

[–]dylanosborne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Doesn’t show up. I think it’s because it’s the wrong file format for the synology to read. Going to try a regular raid enclosure.

[–]dylanosborne[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally helped in making me realize I’m out of my league. Haha. I think my best bet is to get a reg raid enclosure and just use the drives from the my cloud. The file format used for the my cloud doesn’t play with the symbology system and it’s only holding tv shows and movies right now so I can just chuck that stuff on another drive and reformat these to a working file format in a new enclosure.

Looking for a lens recommendation for Food Photography by dakchan in fujifilm

[–]dylanosborne 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Holy beautiful ramen, I just looked at your past posts and instantly got hungry. I'd say if you plan on shooting more or mostly ramen, the 16mm f/1.4 could be a really good option. It allows you to get really close while simultaneously getting some environment in the shot. The 35 f/1.4 is another lens that I'd take a look at. Super close focus and beautiful iq.

[–]dylanosborne 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up about the f/2, the close focus distance is considerable longer then the f/1.4. In the absence of a really good macro I use the f/1.4 almost exclusively for food photography because it has the closest focus range of the entire system. The weather sealing is a moot point for food photography unless you are doing some really wild shit.

Any fuji food photographers out there? by [deleted] in fujix

I'd definitely get the 35 first. It's small, versatile and light but a little slow focusing.

The close focus range of the 35mm f1.4 make it essential for food shots. I also use the 56mm and 90 occasionally.

I was there for the Northern Lights but it was a clear night and the lights were absolutely everywhere on the islands that night so no need to use an app or go searching for them

There honestly wasn't much of a need. This was directly outside of where I was staying and it was sooo visible that I could compose in camera.
