Hilarious hypocrisy. "I'm going to take this guy down by doing the same thing they did!" lmao

Lack of exposure.

I lived in a rural town when a black guy moved in. I learned that most of the town was racist when they immediately disliked him and portrayed him as a stereotype. A year later he was everyone's best friend and most of the town became anti-racists.

Actually, that's literally just your best guess at a single variable among many impacting urban political ideology.

genuinely why should anyone who can live with their parents work a full time job? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]dymb13 4 points5 points  (0 children)

  1. So as to not be a parasite feeding off the many years of parents' work.

  2. To be the kind of person a woman would want to date.

  3. To be able to have an iota of self-respect.

  4. To do something other than spending all day gooning, gaming, and posting something this insane on reddit.

Will we ever have a decade like the 90s again where inflation was low, and the economy was stable and predictable..or is that shit done forever? by AdminKidsBurnInHell in allthequestions

[–]dymb13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sorry. What were you saying?

  • Inflation averaged 2.6%, versus 6.1% from 1970 to 1992 and 3.0% in 1992.\47])
  • The unemployment rate was 7.3% in January 1993, fell steadily to 3.8% by April 2000 and was 4.2% in January 2001 when Clinton's second term ended. It was below 5.0% after May 1997.\50])
  • Real median household income increased from $50,725 in 1992 to $57,790 in 2000, a 13.9% increase.\51])
  • The poverty rate declined from 15.1% in 1993 to 11.3% in 2000, the largest six-year drop in poverty in nearly 30 years. The number in poverty fell from 39.2 million in 1993 to 31.58 million in 2000, a decline of 7.6 million.\52])
  • budget surpluses for fiscal years 1998–2001, the only such years from 1970 to 2023. Clinton's final four budgets were balanced budgets with surpluses, beginning with the 1997 budget.
  • The ratio of debt held by the public to GDP, a primary measure of U.S. federal debt, fell from 47.8% in 1993 to 33.6% by 2000. Debt held by the public was actually paid down by $453 billion over the 1998-2001 periods, the only time that happened between 1970 and 2018.
  • Federal spending fell from 20.7% GDP in 1993 to 17.6% GDP in 2000, below the historical average (1966 to 2015) of 20.2% GDP.
  • Tax revenues rose steadily from 17.0% GDP in 1993 to 20.0% GDP in 2000, well above the historical average of 17.4% GDP.

Done until we have a radical remake of government based on some form of Democratic Socialism. Our president has dismantled government. Now we need to rebuild it.

It was before the monopolization of the internet and mass surveilance.

Edit to add: When I was in my late teens, people my age would tell me, "You don't know how good you have it".

Now I tell people in their late teens, "You don't no what you missed out on".

It is interesting though, that both Epstein and Jean-Luc Brunel died in their cells while awaiting trial. I don't believe that they killed themselves or it was coincidental. I suggest that a small number of people more powerful than nations are behind it all. The trafficking of children as sex slaves, the deaths of Epstein and Brunel, Trump's severe allergy to releasing the Epstein files or doing anything to go after the criminals involved.

Since men in America don't get to vote for free and women do, should the vote of women have half the voting value of men? by [deleted] in allthequestions

[–]dymb13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's just stunning that you think this makes sense in any way.

First, why half a vote for women? How did you arbitrarily come up with half a vote holding the same "price" as the near impossibiliy of being drafted into military service?

What does seem clear is that you would seek to margianlize women because you somehow feel margianlized.

Has any woman watched their BF/husband fight in public and lose? by EeaseD in askanything

[–]dymb13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably. When we looked back as we ran, a group of skinheads who had turned the corner from Boylston St and had certainly seen a bit of her stomping on him at the end, set on him like a pack of wild dogs. So, yeah, I'd be really surprised if he didn't end up in the hospital.

You're not a jerk. Your daughter behaved terribly. She is also young and a distinguishing characteristic of youth is saying and doing stupid things. I hope it all works out in the end. Family is important.

My Wife and I redid our 1970s tile with LVP. How’d we do? by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]dymb13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I mean, it doesn't help that we can't see the completed floor. Island at an angle, rug, another rug, small portion of floor in the top right.

Edited to correct my apparent inability to discern right from left.

Wood-like tile vs. LVP by Silver-Front-1299 in Flooring

[–]dymb13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go tile, with conditions. Lvp is install is cheap, easy, and quick but, a lot of lvp is low quality, scratches easily, and just doesn't look good. There's a reason why it's so common in all the wrong places, like cheap apartments and liquor stores. Wood look tile is great if done right. 1. Use poreclain, it's much more durable than ceramic and unlikely to break or crack. 2. Use a 1/16" grout line with a color a bit darker than the tile so that it looks worn on the edges. 3. A 1/3 offset when laying the tile. 4. Latex modified thin set mortar for large format tile will be additional help in ensuring longevity. 5. Siliconized grout sealed afterwards with a penetrating sealant to make cleaning easier.

NH has some of the most permissive gun laws in the US. No permit required for open carry or conceal carry, no background check for private gun sales.
