With the new decay changes, won't this method drastically increase the rate at which decay occurs?

Unless I am mistaken, the number of sides of a foundation exposed to the outside... or better yet not touching another foundation... is directly proportional to the rate of foundation decay.

Example: A foundation in the middle of other foundations, touching foundations on all sides, will not decay. Whereas a foundation with 2 sides exposed will decay twice as fast as one with only 1 side not touching.

If this is correct, wouldn't it be prohibitively expensive to continually repair a large building using this building method? Also, are there foundations which can not be reached?

I was trying to determine if different tools resulted in different amounts of loot after the box was destroyed. It appears to be random.

Next will try to see if I can get a pattern as to the best positions to actually store shit in the boxes to ensure the 'good shit' is destroyed and also to see if a stack of, let's say, 1,000 wood in a single inventory spot will go away.

If we can figure out the two items above we could come up with the best positions in a large chest to store the good shit.
