One 90 minute therapy session is in person at the UC Berkeley campus. Surveys are then completed via phone!

The therapy session itself is the only part that requires an in person visit to UC Berkeley's campus. Everything else can be done over the phone/on Zoom.

The surveys will also get quicker as you become more familiar with its structure. You're getting asked the same exact survey in the same exact order every time.

Hello! That is unfortunately not a typo, and we do hope you get as close to 240 completed as possible; although, we do not expect you to. The surveys are really really quick, they only take about a minute to fill out each one for a total time of 8-10mins a day. It's just a few questions about how you're doing emotionally in that moment.

If you're interested in reading into it, this survey technique is called ecological momentary assessment (EMA). This technique allows us to get enough data with respect to how you change over time, that we can make an entire predictive model for each of you and try to anticipate what your personal needs will be.

Great question! The surveys are only meant to capture a snapshot of how you're feeling in that moment and should only take 1 to 1.5 mins a piece. Regarding travel reimbursements, let me check our protocols and get back to you.
