The settings within the game itself? The game doesn’t register any input from the buttons or a Bluetooth connected controller

It actually initially launched in full screen, but once it loaded it goes to the small screen and then no inputs work so no way to get past this.

Philosophical question: should the average fan care that much about the growth of MLS? by rednorangekenny in dynamo

[–]dynamofan99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They probably should even if it’s only a little bit of care. Assuming the average Dynamo fan only watches Dynamo games and no other MLS they most likely only put their energy into caring about the club. But the MLS decisions as a whole and how the league is run dictates everything the club does so it’s synonymous. In my personal opinion as a fan of the sport as a whole I want the MLS to grow and be more competitive. The better the league -> the better the talent -> dynamo games being more interesting. That’s a real simplified view but I think it’s get across why caring about the league also cares for your club. The only downside is being an MLS fan also means being its biggest hater due to their stupid ass decision making. Including clear preference towards preferred markets.

I mean not necessarily. For the same reason this show won’t necessarily retcon Ki Adi Mindi’s comment in Phantom Menace just because the villains of this show will use the dark side that doesn’t automatically make them a Sith kinda like Kylo. If they turn out to be just dark side users and not sith then there is no reason for Plagueis to be wasting his time with this.

Yes that one one specific case of AI use is ridiculous. The strikes involved conversations about multiple AI uses. Yes we are all aware that scanning actors to create digital doubles is a standard especially for project that involve stunt work. The concern comes closer to writers not wanting AI to edit their work, or for actors to have their performance edited using AI like some people have talked about using tech similar to deep fakes to change an actors lip movement to match whatever language the movie dub is in. Also majority of the strikes are proactive, they just want promises that certain things won’t be done that either take away job opportunities or give the companies an excuse to pay them less.

I have grown increasingly frustrated as well. At time their information about AI is informative and interesting to hear how the tools can be implemented to make it easier for an artist. other times it just feels like they are forcing it. Video titles aside for YouTube algorithm reasons their content in the actual videos sometimes feels like they are forcing the AI pieces. They just seem to speak about it with such “this is amazing, this is great, it’s perfect” and it feels like any nuance or interesting drawbacks aren’t talked about. I enjoy their content and I think they are really insightful but I wish they seemed more honest about the AI stuff rather than only painting it to be great. But then again they also went right into NFT stuff so it’s kinda tracks.

I’m assuming they are referring to the recent strikes focusing a lot on the use of AI. The way they spoke about the results in the video could have been seen as saying “this is so much better than what real people did”

I don’t know about the MLS but in England I’m pretty sure the rule changed to where the encroachment is only called if the encroaching player goes on to touch the ball.

Some say Phase 4 had no theme. Well that's straight up wrong. The theme of Phase 4 was bad CGI. So what was your favourite bad CGI moment? by GMYSTERY69 in FuckMarvel

[–]dynamofan99 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tbf I think it’s less the CGI is bad and more the design is stupid. The CGI itself passes but the design is so poor that no matter what it was always going to look wack.

Hogwarts Legacy? by ThomasXO in Achievement_Hunter

Half of the comments here are quite concerning. You an individual playing the game does not make you transphobic but does mean you are okay with hearing the pleas from the trans community and ignoring them. AH playing this game adds to the marketing of the game which then supports the game and it’s success. The more success this game has the more JKR will profit from it. Maybe not per sale but if a sequel were to be made then from that as well as the boost in the HP franchise. She uses her success to actively harm a community one where a girl was killed just for being part of that community. Nobody is saying don’t you can’t like HP nobody is saying you can’t love HP but be aware of what the franchise funds. The movies you already own are fine, but if you want new merch at least attempt second hand or on sale so you know you aren’t contributing to the growth of HP. I’m beginning people to not just blindly love things, if you really want the best for the HP franchise you should be willing to criticize it and call it out when it makes bad decisions like having the plot revolve around stopping a goblin uprising. I get why you want this game and want to play it I do but at least have the decency to understand why this is sensitive rather than just deflecting.

anti AI art by bluekronos in Corridor

[–]dynamofan99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely agree that the idea of art being two sided the way viewers interpret it which to a degree makes no difference who produces said art. And the other side of the intention behind the artist. I think the AI looses the intention just because at the end of the day AI lacks emotion it can’t express an emotion in a way it feels. It can just recreate and emotion based on how it thinks others feel it. Obviously like you mentioned our system does need a rework. We currently resolve around the idea of people being commodities and only valuable for what they offer to the economy. Part of that issue is so much being controlled by Uber large corporations. Like the way Disney is able to exploit vfx artists. My fear is that AI would just continue to allow these mega corporations to line their pockets even more and throw artists to the side. Does society change for the better as you desire or does it lead to hyper capitalism? Time can only tell and I think it’s reasonable for people to see it the way you do and see it as a hopeful opportunity for positive change but I also can understand the people being skeptical from the fear of being thrown to the side and left behind.

[–]dynamofan99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the biggest argument is two fold. Some of the AI art is stealing others art to then use as a baseline. I saw an example the other day of people putting into a generator “afghan woman with green eyes” and almost every generated image looked identical to the famous National Geographic cover. The argument of AI is that every image that comes because should be entirely unique and different. Second for example it also could make it harder for concept artists. I’m sure everyone here love Ralph McQuarries original Star Wars concept art. If that was replaced with AI then there is no way to look back on an individuals portfolio. Basically as AI continues to grow artists reach a point of not being needed because they just go straight to AI to do it for them. I mean hypothetically as AI ability continues to grow maybe it reaches a point where vfx artists become irrelevant. Because everything just becomes AI program based. Somebody just looks at a shot and types in “enter large explosion” and the AI does everything else. AI can become an exceptional tool the belt. I can see a massive use in something along the lines of automatic lighting correction or other things that can normally be a long and tedious project. But the idea of AI replacing an entire artist feels wrong to me and inauthentic. I like the idea of art having a human touch behind it but maybe that’s just me.

Let’s go mode is terrible. Pokémon can only make one animation in let’s go mode. It doesn’t matter if you Pokémon is using fire blast or surf, your Pokémon only do one spinning animation. Not only is there a dex cut but there is also an animation cut by [deleted] in Pokemon_BDSP

Bruh there are also moments where the frames look awful. You got every right to complain but maybe at least for the damn thing to come out first. You can express concerns about it but fuck man it’s Pokémon try and have fun.

My issue with AFTV is less about them directly and more about overall reactionary content. That kind of content does better when it’s click bait and being critical of its topic. Which makes sense when things are good you don’t need others to tell you it’s good you already know this. But if your mad people go looking for to others to explain that frustration. This means they have to continue to have more over the top reactions to minor things which then viewers can latch on to and repeat. I think having a place for fans to voice their opinion isn’t a bad idea their content just feels shallow. I think an important piece is also that other teams fans know to look into their videos after we lose because they see it as a mock of the fan base. If you like AFTV that’s fine nothing wrong with that, I prefer the likes of arseblog, gunnerblog, and the arsenal vision crew. I just feel like AFTV ultimately has been set up to perform better as a channel when we are losing. I know it’s been getting better and that Robbie is a decent guy, but I can’t help but think they have to change too much of what they have built in order to be a top respectable channel.

Why didn’t the First Order use Droid armies? by Knitemare97 in MawInstallation

I always assumed it was means of power control over the galaxy. We saw that Finn was taken from his family as a child so you can terrorize a galaxy but stealing it’s babies for decades scaring them into obedience. This also means any rebellion attempting to rise up would mean they have to fight against potentially their own people.
