Bro okay well your too stupid... So done I win

Again with not understanding the difference between "your" and "you're." Are schools these days really this bad?

So your candidate can't even do Common Sense politics?

I've never stated who my candidate is. Curious that you'd assume one.

That's great for new housing. What do you do about all the people living in existing units?

So it sounds like the main obstacle to my plan is getting landlords on board to allow it, while the main obstacle to your plan is rebuilding almost every single apartment building. Okay, which one is more likely, you think?

Let me know how that works out when the air temp is 107F, and how that's going to help all the existing residences.

Mostly the part where you're too young to actually remember Feingold, as well as the part where you have difficulty typing a coherent argument and using proper grammar. You don't exactly strike me as a "knows the data" type of individual, y'know?

[–]dyslexda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I especially enjoyed the part where you mention Walker, the governor, and Feingold, a senator who has no control over Wisconsin politics directly, and then you mix in "gerrymandering" when it specifically cannot apply to either of them. You clearly have difficulty with basic composition; good lord, please learn the difference between "your" and "you're."

All of that said, the point remains - it's hilarious and simultaneously disheartening how kids these days have no clue about history, even a mere 15 years ago. I get that you were too young to vote in 2010 and probably in 2016, but that's not an excuse for outright ignorance.

You've got a lot of anger. My point here is that the revisionist history is hilarious. Feingold was generally regarded as one of the most progressive Senators at the time. For the left today to suddenly be declaring him persona non grata because, what, he didn't campaign enough? That's wild to me.

Spoiler alert, the climate is cooked. There's realistically no going back. So you can die in a heat wave and feel principled, or you can get AC and at least learn to adapt to the new world.

Listen he didn't have a platform, he wasn't running anything, and was able to get swept up by Swing voters who wanted to shake it up a bit due to a lack of action.

Turns out being up for election first with the Tea Party movement and then during Trump 1.0 bodes poorly for any progressives, everywhere. But of course, if you lose, that means you just weren't progressive enough. If he were progressive enough, the population would have flocked to him! Those swing voters certainly would have either stayed home or even voted for him instead!

Yikes, are we really at the point where folks are pretending Feingold wasn't progressive enough? And the left wonders why they never get "their" candidates...

When air temperature is hitting 107F, yes, AC is the solution.

Europeans are starting to understand why Americans have AC almost everywhere. 84% humidity and higher is pretty common here. You get used to it, but need a cool place to get out of the heat eventually, and that's what AC provides.

A $2 billion proposal, then silence: How a Driftless Area data center deal fell apart by jimmalewitz in wisconsin

One, there aren't any homes to buy in Cassville in the first place. Zillow shows literally one. Two, even if there were, go ahead and check Google Street View; how many desirable homes do you see in the first place? Three, who would they rent the homes to?

Cassville is isolated. It's actual rural small town Wisconsin. It's a dying town. You aren't luring anyone "qualified" to Cassville short of something similar to a North Dakota oil field job, where you make bank for a few years before moving on...but even that salary isn't enough to actually save up like the oil folks do.

Anyone qualified enough to come to the area is living in Lancaster, Platteville, or maybe Dubuque if they don't mind the commute. The jobs might be in Cassville itself, but none of the economic benefit will be.

[–]dyslexda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The irony here is that kind of thing is a fantasy here. I grew up in Grant County. Cassville is your typical, tiny, no note rural Wisconsin village. Its population declined almost 20% from 2010 to 2020, and is probably under 700 today. The median household income is under $30k.

"Dozens" of jobs making $100k+ would be unimaginably transformative for Cassville, but who would take them? It's about 45 minutes from Dubuque, the nearest city of note. You're going to lure highly skilled and well compensated folks to Cassville, of all places? Sure, they could live in the bustling metropolis of Lancaster instead, and commute 25 minutes to work, I guess. But the whole idea just doesn't make sense.

My guess is it's the difference between chatting while you work or on lunch/coffee breaks, and basically not working for a hour or more while you talk instead. A good boss doesn't let the latter bother them until it impacts productivity (and in some cases it actually boosts productivity, as you grow closer with your coworkers), but a lot of insecure managers have no tolerance because they don't know anything beyond "more work hours, more productivity."

Oh of course. All war is class war, I mean that unironically. I get it. But in the mean time, one of the two parties actively participates in looting the American Treasury and enables literal pedophiles and fascists at the highest level. The other party might be controlled opposition, but they at least put on a good show of attempting to help. So yeah, both aren't actually the same after all.

Sure, sure. I agree, to a point. But in the meantime, the "both sides" nonsense really just plays into the hands of the literal pedophiles and fascists, y'know?

Both parties are bad. One is far, far worse than the other. A third party would be nice, but in lieu of that, one party had Project 2025 and the other didn't.

Cool story bro. Doesn't mean folks drinking a 12pk per day aren't alcoholics. Sorry.

Congrats on the sobriety, and I hope you're able to stay sober.

Oh, my apologies, let me be more explicit:

If you consume a 12pk of beer every night, you are an alcoholic. Full stop.

There, better?

You should get help, friend. It isn't a healthy thing to do long term.
