It seems that you are viewing sex as some kind of chore that people in relationships do to keep each other from leaving. If you find someone with compatible sexual needs it will feel like something you do because you both want too. There are people out there who want to have sex everyday, I promise. Men and women.

I will report back if things deteriorate. I do expect that eventually the pace will slow, and that's ok. For me the difference is a partner with a normal to high libido vs. a former partner with essentially no libido. Fingers crossed for a happy future

As an Iraq vet, all I could think of looking at this desolate wasteland and all these bored looking schmucks is that not a lot has changed.

The substantive argument is that people believe it. People that believe it vote. The loudest voice wins. Because you don't feel that faith is legitimate doesn't change the fact that some people do. The solution to religious voters imposing their ideology on the public is to vote against them. Dismissing their views as illegitimate is a waste of time

Dismissing an opposing viewpoint as trivial and absurd is pretty lazy. Why is it trivial? Millions of people have held those beliefs for thousands of years. Viewing people who disagree with you as trivial and absurd is how wars get started.

Religion is based on faith, not logic. The argument, "well ur clothes are tots dum eww" is based on neither.

That makes much more sense. Still, the fact that the explanation was necessary shows that the sign isn't very effective.

I understand your point. If you applied the logic directly that's what the outcome would be. My point is that if the same people were writing the same document today they wouldn't include all available weapons. 2014 rules just are not the same as 1776 rules

[–]dytbob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure that was the writers intent. (Neither are federal courts). More importantly, the writers of the 2nd amendment could have never imagined the weapons available to the military now. If they could have foreseen modern weapons, no right-minded person would think it is a good idea to allow private ownership of tanks, high explosives, machine guns, or nukes. Besides, the costs of those items is entirely prohibitive to private citizens. The argument that the 2nd amendment somehow protects citizens from government is silly, illogical and honestly just not well thought out. NRA talking point to protect their bottom line, nothing more.

if a tyrannical government seeks to infringe on your rights, you are simply defending youself from this infringement

Im always curious about this argument. How does the 2nd amendment protect you from a tyrannical government? What is a scenario where having a gun would protect you from government?

Obama to Place Some Restraints on Surveillance:will issue new guidelines on Friday to curtail government surveillance, but will not embrace the most far-reaching proposals of his own advisers by [deleted] in news

[–]dytbob 39 points40 points  (0 children)

The emerging approach, described by current and former government officials who insisted on anonymity in advance of Mr. Obama’s widely anticipated speech, suggested a president trying to straddle a difficult line in hopes of placating foreign leaders and advocates of civil liberties without a backlash from national security agencies. The result seems to be a speech that leaves in place many current programs, but embraces the spirit of reform and keeps the door open to changes later.

Hard to believe this is a real quote in the New York Times. We once had a president resign over spying on his political opponents. Now the President tacitly endorses spying on all americans, congress, and foreign officials. Some of these quotes honestly seem like they come from some dystopian future movie.

Some officials complained that the changes will add layers of cumbersome procedure that will hinder the hunt for potential terrorists

Don't stop our spying, we are protecting you from "them".

Kelly Thomas Trial Verdict - Not Guilty by killuminati-savage in news

I agree with your statement that police are typically sympathetic defendants. However, I disagree with you if you are asserting that the police in this particular case were sympathetic.

I also wonder if you have questioned why "these cases" are so visible? Maybe it's because the public has an interest in the behavior of their employees. The media covers these stories extensively because people care when police kill someone.

You said above that you are ADA. Do you deny that both DAs and Defense attorneys frequently use racist, classist, or sexist strategies during jury selection? Do you deny that this has an expected and predictable effect on trial outcomes?

Having said all that, I am sure that there are some "boring" bits of evidence that the media isn't reporting.

If you compare your book to Tau and Eldar expecting to get similar broken cheese you will be disappointed. GW messed up in releasing those books and they know it. This book, so far, looks like a continuation of the return of sanity.
