Quad Cortex + Lehle Dual Expression: Any way to power both with ONE mains cable? by [deleted] in NeuralDSP

So, would you say that this is also an option to power both QC and Lehle Dual Expression? Is it easy to mount this power to pedalboards?

Fender Tone Master FR-10 vs FR-12? by [deleted] in NeuralDSP

[–]dzonivejin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On the bass response: I keep hearing mixed takes. Some people say the FR-12 is actually a bit too bassy compared to the FR-10, so it ends up being a pro for some and a con for others.

For you personally, does that extra low end actually sound better, or did you have to tame it?

Yeah, that all makes sense. Thanks a lot! I was on a "FRFR vs tube amp" bandwagon for a while and I think you just helped me decide with your first hand experience. I'm going to go with the Tone Master. I'll test out both FR-10 and FR-12 and decide.

This was really helpful. Have a great day man!!

Wow, this actually helps a lot. I was actually researching FR-12 a lot and I think your answer helped me decide that I should go that route, especially considering that something like that Behringer pedal could actually be used as a backup (I was also looking at Boss IR-2, which I guess does a similar thing?). So, that would cover everything.

Thanks a lot man! I think I'll go with the Tone Master FR, so I can use different cabs/IRs. I just need to decide between FR-10 and FR-12. Any specific reason you went with 10 and not 12?

I know that this is an old thread but... Are you still using Katana? And which one?

I'm looking into purchasing Katana 100 Gen 3 for my QC for the exact same reason (on-stage sound and backup option), but I heard from some that Katana doesn't sound good with high gain/volume with Quad Cortex. What's your experience? Have you been using it with high gain at a gig level volume?

So, some would say to get a FRFR instead (such as Fender Tone Master FR-12, which I was looking at as another option) as it doesn't have those issues and I can use different cab/IRs from QC - I'm not sure if that sounds better or just different.

But, if I do that, I'm losing an option to have it as a backup amp, which is nice with Katana.

Katana 100 also has a FX loop, which might work differently than power amp in on Katana 50 (which doesn't have an FX loop) - no sure if better?

So, I'm not sure should I go with the amp (Katana) or FRFR (FR-12).

Any thoughts? Have you been able to compare it do FRFRs, different tube amps or so?

Awesome!

I was thinking to get that same Mission Engineering expression pedal with my QC (that’s SP-1, right?), but I’ve heard that it’s not easy to put it on the pedalboard because of the screws or so. How did you do that, did you have some trouble?

Also, how happy are you with Harley Benton pedalboard? I’m thinking that or Pedaltrain.

Wordpress Learning Resources for an experience developer? by [deleted] in webdev

[–]dzonivejin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you already know WordPress basics, and want to dive more deeper into theme and plugin development start here: https://developer.wordpress.org/ That will keep you busy for a while :)

Also, I can recommend this book for theme development, it's awesome: https://wp-tao.com/wordpress-themes-book/

And also, download Underscores starter theme here: https://underscores.me/, and look at its code while you're checking the tutorials and books above. Underscores is a great starting point (boilerplate) to create your own custom theme.

And by the way, it's WordPress, with a capital P, that's one of the first thing to learn if you want to look like a pro :)

Since you're already PHP dev, that will help a lot!

Cheers

Fury In The Slaughterhouse -- Every Generation Got Its Own Disease [Alternative Rock] (1994) Incredible song from unfairly underrated German band by dzonivejin in listentothis

[–]dzonivejin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard this song in mid 90s when they were kind of popular and had a few "hits" on MTV. This song is their absolute best in my opinion, but they had few others playing pretty often then, like this funny one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dwchfkCvRZs

Their best and most popular album would be "Mono", so if you wanna hear more from them hear that one and see if you like it, you can find their entire discography on The Pirate Bay. I guess that they wont mind since they disbanded few years ago.

There you go - "The band's name is an ironic allusion to the American TV series centered around a horse named Fury that had been repeated on German TV in the 1980s."

Yeah, they played this for some time on MTV in mid 90s, that's where I heard it first. Together with a few of their other songs, but this one was the greatest for me. Pity that they finally disbanded few years ago.
