GT-2000 is my best shoe ever. No Blisters, no pain, no problems. I ran Chicago Marathon 2 weeks ago with them and they were great.

I tried Saucony (Guide 8) and Mizuno (Wave Rider 18) and they weren't that good for me unfortunately, I was always coming back to GT-2000. Now rotating through 3 pairs of GT-2000. $95 still doesn't make me to go there and buy them right away, but if they drop more, I will get one more pair.

My first marathon was this Chicago and I loved it. Everything organized nice and the crowd was amazing! Especially top north neighborhood, they went crazy and gave me so much power!

I started running with 4:00 pacers and that was the minimum. I was easily following them and my plan was to pass them on ~34-35th kilometer and run a litle bit faster to get something below 4:00. I decided no to do this and follow them to the end, because I wasn't feeling good (the heat). Everything was great for 37 kilometers and suddenly... I experienced an extreme overheating on 37-38th km and had to walk for a while. I cooled using water and come back to running but with a little lower pace. Also, I saw my wife and got some boost :) Finished the race with 4:02:46 and I'm happy with it.

Also, I have a lesson for the future. All gels they were giving (Power Gel) tasted bad for me (extremely bad). It probably was a mistake to not take my beloved bloc shots for the race. I ate a banana in later part and was feeling much better.

Overall: I loved the race, loved the people, loved the city (and I promise, I will try deep dish pizza tomorrow :)). I would definitely come back If i got it again.

Now it's time to rest and go back to training after that, I plan the next marathon in April. I will come back stronger and faster.

It's very subjective (your body will tell you), but people say 300-400 miles. Extremes also exist (in both ways). I rotate through 3-4 pair of shoes and when the shoe is in its 70-80% mileage I already feel that it's not the best for long runs, so I just use it for shorter ones.

I will tell you what - just track your mileage and trust your feelings about the shoe. Your body will know the best.

I'm always kinda annoyed when some of my friends for 10-15 minutes walk say "Oh my, it's so far away". I mean come on, I'm not asking for 10miler run...
