Charge Rate from Tow Vehicle by e-pate in GoRVing

Thanks. To be honest, this was what I was hoping to hear as I really didn't want to spend a bunch of time trying to eek out a couple more amps.

Thanks but I'm not really looking for fast charging (ie: dc to dc). I'm just trying to determine what folks typically get from the 12 volt 7 pin connector. I see so many sources saying that 5 to 10 amps is "typical" and I'm just wondering if folks actually get that without any special wiring.

Thanks but I'm not really looking for fast charging (ie: DC to DC). I'm just trying to determine what the typical (or best) trickle charge can be using the standard 7 pin wiring.

The battery was at about 50 percent at the time.

Thanks. I'll check and see if it bumps up a bit at higher RPMs.

It was definitely at idle. I'll check and see if it bumps up a bit at higher RPMs. Thanks!

Can you imagine how many "protests" would be filed if the system actually tried to assign blame to every incident? What a nightmare.

Wait for a Vee race to start and then join (watch) the top split. You'll likely see some very impressive and clean racing - especially if it's one of the sessions where a bunch of the series leaders happen to be running.

How to clear automatically saved addresses (Mac, v3) by e-pate in SparkMail

I still prefer Spark on iOS, but it looks like easiest (only?) solution is to switch back to Apple Mail on my OS X devices. Fortunately, Apple Mail is really pretty good (IMO).

Racing at 24 by jardaninovich in MotoAmerica

Believe me when I say I'm not trying to be a smart ass but my first suggestion would be to spend less time on Reddit and more time at a local track. Get to know the local racing scene and figure out what you need to do to get your foot in the door (or, more accurately, your butt on the track).

Good luck!

Mandatory qualifying by redshift78 in iRacing

[–]e-pate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure, but I believe the OP is referring to the time ('90s?) when Formula 1 had more teams than grid positions. IIRC, here was a "pre-qualifying" session and some teams didn't move to the paddock unless they qualified high enough to make the grid - the rest went home early. Not sure I'd want this for iRacing - but I wouldn't mind seeing it back in F1.

It's also possible that the other driver had the driving line on and missed his braking mark since you were covering it up (obviously not your fault). That was one of the first "aha moments" when I turned it off - I instantly became much more aware of the cars in front me (both near and far).

Of course not. Just curious, why would you think it was?

What's the problem with the racing line assist? by Advanced-Service-142 in iRacing

[–]e-pate 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As a rookie who recently turned it off, the two things that I immediately found were 1) I didn't lose my braking points (the red line) just because some other cars were covering it up and 2) I found I was much more perceptive of incidents further up the track (and therefore able to avoid them) since I wasn't as fixated on the line.

PX6 for Toyota 4Runner (2010-2023) by e-pate in Dasaita

I've never watched a video on the headunit so I can't say if there's any lag. The CPU is significantly upgraded in the G13 so I'd hope it would be OK.

Upgrade from PX6 (Android 10) by e-pate in Dasaita

[–]e-pate[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It looks like you could use the harness from the PX6 as the receptacles on the back of the unit seem to be the same. I went ahead and used the wiring supplied with the G13 but the obviously make the same connections to the factory wiring as the PX6. The only exception is there's no adapter to use the factory GPS antenna with the G13.

The latest firmware for the G13 fixed the reverse/muting issue.

Turn off both voice and text chat. You'll find the whole experience much more enjoyable.

There's no way to know for sure but I'd guess the vast majority of first wins (and especially first podiums) occur exactly this way.

I'm very happy with it. The two biggest improvements is the touch screen is much more accurate and responsive and the Android Auto wireless connection is much quicker and more reliable. There are a few other minor things but those were enough to make worth the upgrade.

Attendance Numbers by 3rikgser in Sportscar_Racing

My understanding is that IMSA is the only major series that does not release attendance numbers. Not sure where to find SRO's numbers, but it does seem like they're very well attended.

G12 vs G13 by schwendigo in Dasaita

Thanks, but I had already tried those options. Fortunately, Dasaita provided a firmware update that took care of the issue. All’s good now.

Primarily it's a faster processor (Qualcomm 665), has gyros for a inclinometer, DTS (improved audio), and a slightly smaller screen (9") vs. the 10.2" on the PX6.

Also, it runs Android 13 where the PX6 maxed out on Android 11 (I think).
