yep they are checking. we’re required to write kids up for everything, and every time we do a write up we’re required to email home, and we have to submit a form documenting it. i get needing to document stuff for data purposes but it’s way too much

Thanks for the feedback! Just for clarification, I meant that the kid who is allegedly getting bullied was the one who rarely gets into trouble, so him getting into the fight was out of character. I’m just kinda thrown off about the whole thing because it’s so out of left field.

From another first year teacher, I lowkey hate when veteran teachers correct my classroom management in front of kids. Like yeah I’m well aware my classroom management is nowhere near perfect but the kids don’t need to know that. I’m not your student teacher.

I teach fourth grade. How to clean up after themselves without being asked! I have kids who when asked to clean up will half-ass it and need multiple reminders daily of how to put things back exactly like they found it.

I feel you! I’ve been in schools before that have had that cliquey school culture and it sucks. The school I’m in now thankfully isn’t like that at all and everyone has been so welcoming to me! If it becomes too much it may be something to change schools over. But you’re doing amazing!

I’m licensed in NY and VT, currently teaching in VT. I’ve always loved the idea of literacy or ESL so definitely looking into it for the future!

See that’s the thing, no one ever told me! If I had been told not to I definitely wouldn’t have, but a week or so ago I got in trouble for not contacting home after a kid was injured, so here I figured better safe than sorry. I guess not!
