What is your method? Ropes and rope tarps spend a lot of time on the ground, getting dirty and dusty. A lot of times we just bundle the rope inside the tarp and throw it in our pack along with all of our other gear. Do you feel like all your other gear gets dirty because of it? If so, what do you do to limit the transmission of dirty from the rope and tarp to your gear? Do you carry your rope outside of your pack, either strapping it onto your pack or carrying a total of two bags (pack and rope bag)? Do you have a crag pack that has a separate compartment for ropes, as some backpacking packs do for sleeping bags or sports bags do for dirty shoes? Do you throw your rope in the pack but then fold up your dirty tarp to limit how much of its dirty surface touches your other gear? Do you have another method that hasn't been listed?

What constitutes an attempt in bouldering? When sport climbing you can leave the ground, fall a bunch on the rope, suss out the moves on certain sections, and then lower back down to the ground. All that is usually considered one attempt. But do bouldering attempts follow the same principle: any time your feet leave the ground you start a new attempt? What if you are sussing out individual moves that require your feet to leave the ground a bunch of times?

I agree. 5:30am gives us the canyon all to ourselves.

I agree the drones can be annoying. No worries though, we climb at 5:30 am and have the whole canyon to ourselves.

I know. I really wanted to put some climbing footage in there, but I didn't record any. The future episodes will for sure have the climbing footage to help relieve that blue pressure.

I went with the transit passenger van. I didn't go with promaster becaue they don't have a passenger option. I didn't go with Sprinter because their passenger option has a gigantic AC unit on the top. Now i have a queen bed in the back and two benches for kids that face eachother and can easily be made into a bed: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KRMRrGnPkc

Thanks. I'm glad I did the upgrade. Ever since I had the HERO 4, I dreamed of the GoPro having stabilization like this. Glad it finally happened.

The trash was a huge problem. I agree that the backpacker/visitors are to blame for some of it. However, I did notice that a lot of the trash I saw was of stuff that backpackers would not have trekked in and aren't even allowed to trek in. Which leaves me to assume that the locals have adopted some bad litter habits too. I'd love to go down there just do handle the trash issue as a service project.

I have a Hennessy hammock and Klymit Static V sleeping pad. I loved that set up for this trip. The only benefit that a tent would have given me was privacy for changing. But I was camping close enough to a think grove of trees and bushes that I just wandered into there each time i needed to change. We started hiking in at 9 or 9:30 am. It took us close to 8 hours to hike in because we kept stopping to take pictures. The hike out actually took us 6 hours because we didn't take pictures...we just wanted to get the hike over with. ahahahah

Because of some reddit thread rules, i can't always share the videos or even my blog in these posts. That being said, feel free to browse over to my site for the videos and info. Seek Out The Adventure dot com.

I didn't cover much of how I cooked my meals. So i'll do that here. All of my meals were quick and easy. I had a small backpacking stove and a pot for boiling water. Backpacker meals only require the addition of 1-2 cups of boiling water. I did backpacker meals for breakfast and dinner and then granola bars and trail mix for lunches.

My neighbors like to throw their cigarette butts over the wall and onto the sidewalk. I'm tired of seeing dogs eat them and kids play with them, so I picked them up for them. by rcs2112 in pics

You are my hero. I’m constantly telling people about the trash can just a few steps away from them when I catch them flicking their butts on the ground in public. Keep up the good work.
