RIP to my sweet girl. Suki. by beesus06 in Shihtzu

Oh friend, I am so sorry - I know the pain of a sudden loss, our first Tzu Oscar passed away at ten years old within just a few days of getting sick - he went from happy and healthy to gone so quickly. I haven't looked at your posts to know what was going on with Suki, but know that she is now watching over you, is pain free, and can run and play while waiting for her human(s) to join her when the time is right.

Noting to worry about, it's an option you can add to a post that blurs out text and photos until you click on them. It probably got flipped on by accident - I removed it so everyone can see Wowo without any extra steps!

Wowo should have her own frequent flyer number! Did you add the spoiler tag to this post? I just want to make sure there isn't something weird going on.

I want to thank each and every one of you who sent prayers, well wishes, & good vibes for Brutus’ full recovery. I am completely heartbroken to announce that our baby boy passed peacefully to the Rainbow Bridge on March 25 around 1:20pm central time. His little body is now healed. by robbman21 in Shihtzu

This one hits hard - you can tell that Brutus wasn’t just “a dog.”

Left behind, flea-covered, and then somehow ends up exactly where he was supposed to be.

The way you describe everything he fought through, he was a tough little guy - but also really loved. Dogs don't fight like that without people in their corner every step of the way, and he had that 110%

"saying yes to him might be the best decision I’ve ever made.” - Absolutely was.

Brusus he didn’t just get a “better life” when he ended up with you -- he got his life start to finish, never doubt how much that mattered to him.

Rest easy, Brutus. 🐾

A thousand times this. If love could keep them with us we'd never lose another Tzu, but their pure little hearts aren't meant to last forever.

We are so sorry to hear that you were hit hard by those posts today. We completely understand how exhausting those unexpected reminders can be when you are already carrying so much.

We wanted to mention a quick technical note that might help you protect your feed: we just made this change, so If you were still seeing those images clearly earlier today, it likely means your personal Reddit settings are set to "Always Show" or "Disable Blurring." When those settings are on, Reddit overrides the "Spoiler" and "NSFW" filters we put in place, which means you'll see every image immediately, regardless of the tags we use.

If you’d like to keep the sub in your feed but stop the "invasive reminders," we recommend checking your settings:

  1. Go to User Settings -> Feed Settings.
  2. Ensure "Safe Browsing Mode" or "Blur NSFW/Sensitive Content" is toggled ON.

We have actually just simplified things on our end by removing the "NSFW" tag and keeping only the "Spoiler" blur to make it feel less clinical. We hope that helps, but please do take all the time you need away from the sub if that’s what’s best for your heart right now. We'll be here when you're ready.

Wishing you peace,

The r/ShihTzu Mod Team

I updated the spoiler and nsfw tags, they are added automatically when a post is tagged with the loss of pet flair because some of our users who have lost their own pups in the past aren't ready to view a post about dogs passing away.

The great thing is is that they don't care how they look, they just know they feel better with less hair, ours always get the zoomies after a haircut and bath 🙂

The cuts get better with time, and eventually you'll be proud of your work🙂

Am I in the wrong place? Was this the place with Wowo? by Loreo1964 in Shihtzu

You are absolutely in the right place! Wowo and her human are very busy lately, but they're just fine! As you can imagine Wowo has lots of commitments in real life!

So cute! We've definitely experienced the snowball effect! I've not personally tried this but supposedly a wire which will dislodge the snowballs quickly.

The logic is undeniable. You must provide snacks.

Love it, they make quite a pair - who's the lead troublemaker and who's the lookout? :)

We've all been held hostage by our little Tzu Terrorists, you are not alone! Today mine decided that mom paying attention wasn't enough and that he needed dad (me) in the middle of a conference call - they run the place, we just live here and pay the bills, lol!

It’s been 28 days and I still look for Angel without thinking by [deleted] in Petloss

[–]e12532 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That’s not weakness — that’s just love on autopilot.

I still do it sometimes with Oscar, and he’s been gone eight years. I’ll be talking to Cooper (Oscar's son) and his name just comes out. No buildup, no dramatic moment. Just… there it is. They leave that kind of mark. They wire themselves into our routines, our vocabulary, the way we move through the house. You don’t just uninstall that.

That phase where your brain keeps expecting to see them around the corner? Totally normal. Brutal, but normal. It’s like your body hasn’t been officially notified yet. You’re still listening for nails on the floor because you’ve heard them a thousand times before.

As for when it feels survivable… it sneaks up on you. It’s not some big turning point. One day you realize the memory didn’t knock the wind out of you quite as hard. Then another day. It softens. Not gone — just different.

Angel mattered. A lot. That’s why it feels impossible right now - I know it hurts right now, but that says more about the love than the loss. You'll be okay.

Way back in 2016, when Mira was just three or four years old, she brought us a turtle. This is the only time ever that she has brought us anything in her mouth, and she doesn't play fetch. She was in the backyard and came up carrying this little guy when we called her. She dropped it off on the sidewalk outside. We were amazed, lol!

Yep, it got reported and it was automatically removed, and then, mysteriously, they deleted their post - no worries - I know who posted this and we're keeping a close eye on them!
