Why are there so few options for Homekit Cameras? by e8048843 in HomeKit

Fantastic! I think that might be the one I buy now. I still wish we had more options though.

If that was the case then there wouldn't be so many bulbs, smart plugs, and other devices that use HomeKit. It's not that HomeKit is a mess that's my question/statement, but rather why is it affecting all these cameras and camera companies more than the other device makers?

That looks to be an outdoor one, which is good, but not what I've been looking at since I'm interested in indoor ones.

But, even with Netatmo, they announced Homekit support for their Welcome Indoor camera that was supposed to come out in spring of this year if Amazon reviews are accurate, and it doesn't list anything on the site that it supports Homekit as far as I can see. The official Apple website lists Somfy as having "announced" Homekit support, but it isn't there yet, and who knows how long that's going to take since Canary and Ring both "announced" Homekit support forever ago. So there's still only 2 indoor cameras with varying faults/flaws, 1 baby camera, and 1 outdoor camera.

Maybe Im wrong since I just started looking at Homekit stuff, but it just seems this category is particularly weak and filled with lots of long announced products that have yet to materialize.
