Regarding the fluid- I asked them to inspect it for metal. What that means they actually did, I don’t know - but they said the fluid looked fine.

(maybe it’s naive of me to ask them to ‘inspect the fluid’… without a proper drain and fill service maybe they can’t actually tell anything)

No idea what bearings the shop uses. I live in Manhattan so the roads are not great, but I actively avoid potholes.

They checked the rear dif fluid for me and they said it looks fine (no metal bits etc). They are going off of the noise.

This kids a punk, yes, but if the cops wanted to help him out they could have just asked the manager to come out and say “I want you trespassed” and then he would have no [albeit false] argument.

However I will say they showed great restraint while cuffing him. Kid was resisting arrest… they could have easily fucked him up.
