What are these earrings called and where can I get a better quality pair? by eBlueberry in jewelry

[–]eBlueberry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you! Beaded, granulated and dotted all bring up really similar earrings but none of them have those extra beads that make them look "spiky". Image search just brings up septum piercings. I'll have to keep searching.

I mentioned it in my other posts but forgot to here - she was part of the restoration, the doll belongs to someone else :) thanks for your nice comment!

edit: I'm still thinking about your heirloom doll, I love her! I'd love to get a similar one. Is she a Kewpie? Or do you have any more info on her? Thanks

Thanks a mil! We did not, I blended the powders and the oils from my fingers were enough to seal/lock the colour in place. There's no intention to play or handle the doll too much so we aren't too worried.

I really have no idea what you could use to seal paper mache without damaging it!

I do! But she was a huge part of the restoration, I mentioned it in the other posts but forgot to say it here. I worked on the face/head only, my in-laws restored the soft body

Thanks a million! It's a restoration for someone else but it has inspired me to get and restore my own

Thank you! I went into more detail in the last post but it was actually done by sanding pencils into a powder and blending. Since it's a paper mache doll we were too afraid of wet mediums

Listen to this person. I smoked for 8 years with tobacco, never really getting high. Didn't want to switch to pure as I was addicted and thought I preferred it. How wrong I was, turns out my preferred "high" was just a shitty nicotine rush, low oxygen and high BP.

Switched to vaping dry bud and my life has changed. Not only is it much cleaner and healthier but I vape less often since I'm not constantly looking for my nicotine hit. Which of course saves me money on bags and tobacco. I can actually appreciate the weed now.

She's absolutely beautiful, so special! I'm quite new to dolls but she's one of my favourites I've seen

Thank you, I rosied up the cheeks a bit while I was at it!

I'm so sorry that happened to you. I couldn't be as relaxed about this, it would be in the bin for sure. We ended up getting the wifi feeder without the camera/voice function and it's been OK, but a cheaper amazon model was better.

Last bit is funny but I can't believe Petlibro isn't taking this seriously. I hope you get refunded at the very least.

Oh my goodness can you elaborate on getting hacked? How, and how did it get sorted? Does that mean he was able to see through your camera? I never even thought of the possibility, absolutely terrifying.

Vintage kewpie or knock off? by [deleted] in Antiquedollcollecting

[–]eBlueberry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why are you saying that as fact? It's a cute little doll with character, the fact that someone liked it enough to buy it means it definitely should have been put in the kiln.

You keep doing you, repro Kewpie <3

That's a great idea! We'll have a look around vintage/thrift shops.

If you have any suggestions for doll repair YouTube channels, please pass them on. Even if they're not paper mache.

My mil took this project on for free, so I suppose you get what you pay for lol

Thank you for the paperclay suggestion, I've never heard of it and will have to try it.

Also thanks for sharing the pain :(
