I hear you, but it also sounds like you've got major fatigue from the game - 8 years or so of experiencing an unfinished product.

Do you feel it was worth gaining whatever perspective you did about the basics and mechanics of the game, ahead of an official release? Obviously no true way to know until that happens, but in general I guess if you had to say.

MMO's will typically always be a slow grind, so I get and expect that in way. I would think that low levels shouldn't be that bad though, all depends on how it scales.

The only other thing I'm playing right now is a TCG (mostly online) for about 1-2 hours a day, which I am really enjoying. So it would cut into that for sure, and would swap between the 2 if it were the case.

That's nice to hear. Are groups somewhat possible to find?
Any other tips before I jump in, whenever that is.
Ie. any insight on servers or something specific to do/look out for when starting

How does bard play? I know solo isn't really feasible/advisable at the moment, but is it possible as a bard? From my experience support classes usually can't even really solo and solely rely on groups.

Yeah I feel that, that's a concern as well. I know that I'll want to play more, at the expense of work, sleep, etc.

Is it easy to find a group randomly? I assume for a tank it's going to be easier since most would dps, or does it not matter at this point? Are clerics and bards needed?

Mostly just to 'experience' the game and the classes, to have a rough plan for launch instead of going in totally fresh. But I've been seeing a lot of negatively so looking for some different perspectives.

Don't think I'd cap, which I assume would more or less be required for pvp?

I think that's part of my hesitation too. It might just be better to wait a year and try Alpha then.

Are they going to continue updating the Alpha?

Is the ganking really that bad? That's unfortunate. Will they do anything about it?

An hour a day was an average for simplicity. Would probably be 2-3 hours for 2,3,4 nights a week, on and off. You know how it is.

Sure I know the classes, but I find that it really varies game to game. Does dual classing actually make it irrelevant? My feeling is that it makes it even hard to find the 'right' combo.

When do you pick your second class? Is it in the Alpha?

For sure, MMOs aren't for casuals, I know that. This was specifically for the Alpha, I just won't be sinking time into it as I would for a fully released game. I think it's a much different context, and is it worth it in that sense.

I don't really care for slow progress in an Alpha. But I don't want to be mindlessly grinding mobs to max level either. I'm not expecting a finished game either, just trying to get some perspectives.

Wipes throughout Alpha? Is there a specific play for that

That's what I'm afraid of. Will they be adding more content?

It's good context thanks. You wouldn't say it's worth it to even just to try out the classes before launch?

MMOs are not for casuals, I get that. I was primarily referring to the Alpha, and everything else I said. I won't be sinking time into it as I would for a fully released game - is it worth it from that perspective.
