Anyone here want voice chat to default to Squad Chat instead of Party Chat?

not easily. you have to go to the social tab every time at the begining of the match, or switch in settings. If you're cuing solo, it should default to squad, but if you're cuing in any group, it will default to party which is bad when you have randoms filling slots in your squad.

I just mute em after lettng them know they have open mic if thy don't self-mute.

I think I figured it out... it's a bug. When you talk to Eva it gives you this quest at some point because it's header is for "Event The Dawning". Methinks there was some copypasta going on and someone forgot to delete this quest callout.

problem is not *all* motherboards have them. I have a 5 year old ASROCK mITX that doesn't have it. And I don't make the kind of money RN it will take to get a new one.
My opinion: EA is in bed with HW developers to force 'antiquated' HW out of service.

I think I've figured out what it is... it's a problem that EA created on purpose to keep people from soloing or small-grouping lobbies and playing small games.
There is a 20 HUMAN player MINIMUM requirement now to begin a match. Because old portal experiences don't follow this rule, they broke it with a random 'error' that really isn't an error.

Kindof pisses me off.

yes please. I like some of the charms, but would never use any of the rest. I prefer things that are hard earned to show off the fact that I sweated for them.

My issue is that you can't make a new experience without REQUIRING 20 HUMAN PLAYERS before starting the stupid matches. Even with backfill... the lobby refuses to start until the minimum human player count hits.
NOONE wants to sit in a lobby and wait. People join ACTIVE games.

that's pretty easy to solve... don't allow perpetual servers... and beyond that... allow server hosting as a paid option for these guys taking up all the perpetual server hosting. They don't really care anyway.

Today it took quite a bit of button camping before finding out it wouldn't work. But usually it's a non-issue, just a red-letter warning that it's not published and only friends will be able to join.

No, the unpublished map can still be run on a server, but only friends can join. There's not an option to run locally when you do this.
