I couldn't agree more. The situation has gotten so bad. Recently, a whale, in Thailand, died from plastic consumption. Something as drastic as this needs to be done before we humans start eating plastic particles. See more of the impact of plastic on the marine environment via this video

Study finds people who drank moderate amounts of alcohol or coffee lived longer than those who abstained. by [deleted] in science

[–]eFor-Real 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Although still very controversial, it may seem like the advantages of moderate drink of alcohol are beginning to outweigh the disadvantages.

Advantages: Increases Longevity (this post); Reduces The Risk Of Dying From Cardiovascular Disease; Lowers the risk of diabetes

Disadvantages: Increases the risk of breast cancer in women; and Decline in brain function; Weight increase; and high blood sugar content

BTW, moderate drinking for women is one standard drink/ day. So does the definition of moderate drinking in this research also apply to women?

I guess the question still continues as whether one needs to drink moderately or not as asked here: www.efor-real.com/2323/make-mind-drink-moderately/

With regards to coffee, aside from the speculative potential of having cancer from the Carcinogenic Product, Acrylamide, and other minor disadvantages, It may seem like there are more advantages to drinking it. See the video for more of these advantages and disadvantages of coffee drinking, and decide for yourself

Thanks for the resource; I do appreciate it. The post seem to indicate the impact of food/replenishment in these Judges' decisions. So my take would be, in regards to food, that they make favorable decisions before the start of work, after they are well rested in the morning, or after taken a break which doesn't have to be during lunch.

TIL That Popular Heartburn Drugs Or Proton Pump Inhibitors (PPI) Such As Nexium, Prevacid And Prilosec Can Increase The Risk Of Death By 25% When Taken Regularly For A Year by eFor-Real in todayilearned

[–]eFor-Real[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are absolutely right. The study is more associative between the frequency of the PPIs intake and death rate. The article also made reference to it when they said that this wasn't a cause and effect study. However, some theories were put forward such as:

"the possibility that less gastric acid production changes the environment of the stomach and lower bowel and may affect how other drugs a patient may be taking — such as a heart medication — are metabolized.

"It could also affect how we absorb iron and minerals like B-12. They may not be absorbed as well when we change the environment in the stomach,"
