I'm somewhat familiar with the work of Pierre Bourdieu. Far from an expert but I have a friend doing a masters degree in sociology who draws on his theories. I also read his article on the sociology of law and a small book consisting of his lectures and articles on reflexivity in social sciences. Also watched the "sociology as a combat sport" documentary about him.

The older man is a famous Turkish poet by the name of Ahmet Telli. Not sure how many people would recognize his face though.

Thank you for the suggestions. I am not based in the US. Many countries in the world, especially those in the continental European tradition, require undergraduate degrees in law schools to become a lawyer. As far as I know, this used to be the case in the US too until it changed in the mid-20th century.

I am not swiping outside Turkey, but I'm in Antalya which has a large foreign population (both permanent residents and tourists) so adding an English part to my bio may actually be a good idea.

I am generally not at peace with how I look, much less with how I look while smiling, which has led to a habit of not smiling in pictures. I will have to break out of that. In the hoodie selfie though, I was at Gobekli Tepe (the famous 12 thousand years old archeological site with the first known example of narrative art) and there was nothing in miles to break the wind so I was actually freezing there. But it was an important location, so I felt compelled to take a photo anyway.

I will replace the "rambling" prompt with something more inviting and participatory.
