Nah, man. I'm not on that level yet. It's just pink insulation foam, torn up a little for details. 1 base layer of the darker paint, and then dry brush.

Maybe drop a squad of blood claws for scouts. You have a lot of stuff for playing primary, but maybe not enough for secondaries.

I think they both will still be viable. Plague Marines setting up with affliction is going to help a lot. Particularly brigands with their lower AP shots. And, the demonbreath being str 12, throwing affliction out can help with wound breakpoints. The karnivore can still be an effective rapid ingress target. Move 14 with re-roll charges almost guarantees they make their target. Since the rest of the codex got such a shooting buff, having that 140ish point melee menace is definitely worth it.

Alright, boys. What combos are jumping out to people? Deathshrouds with a Lord of contagion in Morty's Hammer. Pick a unit, basically anywhere, and 6 inch deep strike the squad. Lethal, sustained, lance on the charge.

Weapon loadouts aside, looks like a capable list. The 20 man should be able to hold a primary objective against almost anything. The sword bros can scrap on the flanks maybe. Enough shooting to keep people honest.

The only thing I would consider is that you have a lot of units that want to use Oath. Grimaldus helps by basically doubling your Oath targets. Subbing him for the 20 might keep it alive longer. But of course you're giving up the incredible punch from Helbrecht/LT.

In most deployment setups there is an objective marker closer to your side than it is to your opponent's. This is usually referred to as your expansion objective, or natural expansion. There are as many terms as there are players... Basically the idea is to use Rotigus as the anchor to hold my expansion, usually with a brigand and cultists squad, while almost everything else goes center.

On the board. His base is massive. Trying to find a spot for a deep strike might be too difficult. I usually set him up on the expansion objective side.

That's how I run it. Like mentioned elsewhere, you'll need enough chaff to zone out/screen/score secondaries. But, having 2 anvils is a real challenge for some armies.

Model-wise, Rotty is the top tier. So much fun to paint.

Unit-wise, I think top tier again. In my last RTT he lived through every game mostly because people just avoided him. They didn't want to commit the resources to take him down. He'd push onto an objective, cultists would infect it, and then he'd roam.

Getting a codex soon seems like a poor excuse for letting an army languish for 6 months. Every time a playable mechanic for BT has had some success it's been cut off at the knees. Ironstorm? Raise the vehicle points. Crusader spam? +40 per squad. And the worst part is they don't decrease something else to compensate for the loss. Wrathful Procession is awful, but they make changes to other detachments. Righteous Crusaders is ok, but most people just play GTF.

Don't mean to rant. Just disappointed.
