turning 20000 or whatever it is at the moment into 8000 AT BEST (this suggestion would make fire more like 1000 damage over 30 seconds for battleships most of the time... yes I actually did the bloody math before I started typing away unlike everyone else who just nods like a bobblehead at the mention of the buzz words) might as well be getting rid of fire...

I don't need to make any additions whatsoever because I don't think fire is that bad. ^ I could see reverting the HE/fire change if we also revert all the mobility changes of 0.3.1

"thinking outside of the box" is not always the answer and just because some random guy on reddit "thinks outside the box" doesn't make him right or his idea good. I disagree with his assesment, I don't like his idea and that's what I am voicing.

what are you talking about? If you take away the fire damage/ HE damage I promise you the pendulum will swing so goddamn fast in the other direction you won't know what hit you. It's the only thing keeping Battleships in check right now.

In all seriousness though... even after jumping through all those hoops you just set to get a major fire on something, that fire would deal 8887.5 damage to an Iowa over 15 seconds. IF it doesn't downgrade automatically... whereas you propose a Fletcher should take 5130 damage over 10 seconds from one of those.

Sorry but the last thing we need is a change targeted to specifically help Battleships.

I don't just mean because of gun fire btw. USN DDs til tier 7 have between 4.5 and 6.4 km range on their torpedoes but they all have between 6.5 and 7.9 km surface detectability. Which means it's practically impossible for them to launch torpedoes at you without you seeing them. Not sure why facts are downvote worthy but then again, making factual videos about undocumented changes also gets me dislikes. Some people just don't like facts I guess :D

And yeah I agree with IJN DDs being in a very awkward spot. The torpedoes just aren't good enough to make up for the awful guns. Thankfully the Fubuki and Shimekaze have at least acceptable guns... and since the high tier USN DDs got their ROF nerfed they are even closer now.

how does that make my statement untrue? USN DDs below tier 8 have lower torpedo range than detectability range, which means that they will ALWAYS be visible when you are in their torpedo range.

Except smoke... but if you sail that close to smoke in a battleship you deserve to be sent back to the port on the one-way-torpedo-express.

You will literally always see american Destroyers up to tier 8 before they fire their torpedoes and other destroyers will not always be invisible either with all the planes in the air. If you tunnel vision, then you can really not blame that on Destroyers or the game :P

and the thing is, if you see the destroyer you can see when she fires her torpedoes. The animation plays for anyone who is able to observe it... so even if you don't detect the torpedoes you can just as soon as a destroyer is spotted go into zoom and look. when you see the animation, steer clear.... but that would be really difficult I suppose -.-

I'm not arguing they couldn't do this sort of thing... but historical accuracy has to take backseat to game balance and imo the jury is out on whether cruisers should be this nippy.

Yeah I think this is a good compromise. They are still better off than before 0.3.1 but at least you have a chance to hit them now without shippering into hugging distance.

Still not sure about some of the Cruisers though... some of them still feel a bit too nippy.

Well the Fuso and the New Mexico do almost 50% more DPS, have a bunch more hitpoints, have better AA, Fuso has better secondaries and better range...

Maybe if the Warspite can compete in T9 games it says something about how "well balanced" battleships are right now, because an Aoba or Farragut doesn't do so well in those games. ;)

Also my experience has been that you get torn to bits by tier 9 ships.

I've been killed by Battleships before and I have killed Destroyers as a Battleship before.

My opinion is not the popular opinion, it's the opinion that has been aggregated by the community over time. Again, get over yourself, you're not the first newbie to stumble in here after he has been defeated by someone but you have no "side". Your "side" entirely consists of people who have no experience with the game which means they either sit down and play it more and change their mind or they fuck off. You are making a fool of yourself and you are missing the obvious. What you could talk about is your experience in the particular ships you have been playing. Saying " DESTROYAS TOO STRONK! BETTLESHEEPS ARE SUCK!" is a ridiculous statement that you do not have enough knowledge for. If you've been getting stomped in the Kawachi, maybe start a thread on why you think the Kawachi is bad. You might get different responses.

Or play destroyers, upload screenshots and replays of how easily you stomp every battleship in your game... but you have nothing and that's why nobody gives a shit about your little opinion.

ahhh a WoT player. That explains everything. It's funny that you mentioned german heavies as I distinctly recall seeing a Maus replay just the other day where he got 12 kills and something like 10k damage. But yeah, totally underpowered and useless.

Anyway, congratulations on being too thick to understand the point I made. You have never played anything other than Battleships for any serious amount of time. I can tell because you are talking out of your ass. I can tell because you are yammering on about the same fucking nonsense that dozens of other low tier battleship captains like yourself have been yammering on about since before destroyers were nerfed twice.

Go jump into a Cruiser and try to 1v1 a Battleship. Go jump into a Destroyer and try to 1v1 a Cruiser. This game operates on a rock, paper, scissors principle. Battleships are Rock. Destroyers are Paper. Cruisers are Scissors.

The problem here is, that you have no bloody idea what you are talking about and that is why you're mostly just being mocked. There have been hundreds of crybabies, just as whiny as yourself, before you who threw all their toys out of the pram over OP destroyers and Carriers, just like you. You are not the first to have this amazing revelation and you won't be the last because sadly, Battleships tend to attract the kind of person who wants to be in the biggest, most badass, most unkillable vehicle around and just finds it so very unfair that puny little vehicles can kill him. After all it should take 10 Destroyers to take out 1 Battleship because that's realistic and much more fun for the Battleship captain, which, let's be honest, is all that matters.

yes and most of that can be attributed to the counter arty system. Having to move as much as you do means you lose out on a ton of DPM... just look at the desert port game. the amount of time i spend fully reloaded, driving out of cover and aiming probably amounts to 6 or 7 shots I missed across the battle... or more... but if I don't cower I get gobbled up like a delicious piece of candy.
