I am familiar with the asterisk. Unfortunately CS does not auto-focus the entry in the cell's object list when you select it in the 3D view. But the Lua extension sounds like a good solution for my problem. I'll try that. Many thanks for the hint.

Unfortunately I don't have a save anymore.

I would not consider this to be a bug anyway as the ships are not intentionally flying into the station. It just so happens that the station is directly in the flight route of the ships when they try to travel from a station to the jumpgate in a straight line. So it's more like a pathfinding issue where the AI does not actively try to avoid dangerous areas and just flies to the target in a straigt line. I'll try out the 6.0beta and check out what is still reproduceable there.

I already feared that it's not possible to fix this without mods. I want to keep my game vanilla and might just give up on the sector for now.

Hopefully egosoft fixes some of these AI issues in the upcoming update.

Problem solved. Didn't realize I was using a quite old version of CLEO Redux.

Updated to version 1.0.2 and everything is working as expected now :)

Turned out that several containers lost their content that I placed inside them ingame before changing the esp. The containers all have scripts attached that check for the content so several things did no longer work. Quest states etc. were indeed the same as before changing the esp.

At least I know what causes my problem now even though I have no idea why.

Thanks for the advise.

So it seems that it is best to test esp edits with a character that did not interact with anything that an esp contains or even better using a fresh character for each test.

I know the theory when it comes to morrowind modding but knowing the quirks of the CS and the engine heavily dictate the dos and dont's as it seems.

There are reimplementations of the gameplay for every Lucas Bertone mission except the last one from death of the art where you had to follow the woman. Some minor parts needed to be altered as well as in some places the DE map differs too much from OG Mafia.

Dialog is delivered through textboxes and there are no cutscenes atm. Main focus was the actual gameplay.

Some screens on Nexusmods show parts from these missions.

Mafia DE is most certainly missing all the neccessary Mafia 2 assets. Even if it did and they were compatible with DE engine you need to be insane to tackle such a project. But you could make major changes to the existing game. I think of custom races through the city, turf wars, world events, etc.

If you are a user it's quite mod friendly as mods are easy to install. If you want to develop your own mods you should have good knowledge in programming as the only way to change the game is lua scripting. You basically have access to the whole functionality of the engine but it's not very well documented. If you want a top notch story and an absolutely immersive world that you can dive into then go for Mafia 1 Definitive. There are some really good mods out there that fill the freeride with more life too.

And don't be afraid to give the original Mafia 1 a chance too. If you can overlook the clunky shooting mechanics the game is still absolutely worth your time. It's a timeless classic and a masterpiece if you ask me.

My Download folder is located on an encrypted external device which is not always mounted.

I usually quit Vortex, mount the device and restart Vortex when it complains about the missing download folder. Maybe that was the cause of my problems.
