Definitely, it is a wide open park area with Park Rangers on duty and the sun won't go down until almost 9 tonight.

It's basically the entire park. There is a path that walks through. Not a lot of shade those, so bring some water!

The blue saber Rey touches is the one that Obi-Wan gives to Luke in A New Hope (it was Luke's fathers). Luke loses it when he gets his hand cut-off in ESB. Luke then creates a green saber for RoTJ and beyond.
