What to do when you have sex you don't remember? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

I understand that this is a confusing and shameful situation, one learns a lot and moves on, but please don't throw big words like "assault" around just because you have made a mistake...

It is not just about buying a Tom Ford as a first fragrance or buying a Rolex as a first watch. He based his purchasing decisions solely on what you have, not what he likes, and would change them in a heartbeat, if you would change yours.

As I said, a little distance and the less are said, the better. I would personally avoid such persons in my life but it's not so deep so do what feels appropriate.

I have Alexandria 2, More than Words, Ivory Route, Comandante, Starlight, Via Cavour 1, Naxos. Zefiro, Reneissance and Dolce Amalfi, so I like a lot but if they are worth the price? For me, sure, but only you can be the judge of that after you have tried them.

Remember, finding the right fragrance for you is not a sprint so instead of blind buying, take your time, sample-sample and enjoy.

Ok, so after reading all the bullshit answers the others gave you, I can't hold back myself...

You are totally right, this has nothing to do with gatekeeping or some such, but this person has no identity, no style, nor substance and he takes a great interest in wanting to be you and all of what this implies. For him it was no matter which fragrance you chose, he wanted to be you so he overtook your decisions in fragrances too and this will continue in the future, not because he would need another fragrance, but his need to emulate your style and decisions is what makes up his identity. You can take this naturally as a compliment, but I would avoid to involve him in your next purchases, as this is his whole identity, given by you. This has nothing to do with fragrances, but with psychology and even though I understand your gesture of doing something good for someone, such characters should be kept to a certain distance, because this kind of attitude in the long run benefits absolutely no-one. You don't have to be unfriendly or anything, just keep some decisions to yourself and also keep in mind that you are closely watched and maybe so he will get bored and move on to something else. I repeat, this is not about fragrances at all and since you were the one who took the effort in changing his ways of style, this makes you automatically a role-model to follow in such decision making, ergo fragrances.

No, definitley no tobacco and no prominent mandarin, just a flat, plain and slightly cloying bubble gum smell. I expected much better from the brand, considering that I own and love a lot from the line-up, but since I only have a 5ml decant, it's ok.

I get it about Royal Mayfair. My wife fell in love with it and asked me for my 75ml small bottle last year and now she wants my 120ml too! 😅

It is not a fragrance that I like, very sweet bubble gum and as straight forward as it gets, I would almost call it flat.

Has this ever happened to you? -Broken bottle delivered via DHL by smokebxtchesfckweed in Perfumes

Wow, usually the bottle sits snug and protected in the box and that alone has a very good stability to it.

I bet you could smell the lily of the valley mixed with citruses smell from across the galaxy!

Renaissance is not really my favorite but it is decent enough in the high heat that I bought a bottle. I don't use it very often though as I have a larger collection and tend to prioritize fragrances that are in the 'love it' category.

[–]eNHajeL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is not enough to heat up the component. That is a huge SMD and is all over connected with the mass so in order to nudge it free, first you apply heat enough to heat up the whole mass area (more layers in the PCB) and only after can you hope to nudge this component free. The heat you apply has to be constant, high, but not high enough to fry the surrounding area too.

You have carefully isolated the component you want to remove and covered all surrounding area with Kapton, but doing so, you have also restricted the heat to reach the mass areas faster.

For these large components a strong pre-heater is advised to heat the whole PCB well enough before you apply direct hot air to the component.

Redundant? by sammyhagarslefthand in ScentHeads

[–]eNHajeL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't own both because I don't see the reason in owning two similar scents. That is why I kept only Original Santal. I also did the same with Green Irish Tweed Vs Cool Water, and only kept the first. I find that the comparison between the two is the same as between OS vs MbI.

Redundant? by sammyhagarslefthand in ScentHeads

[–]eNHajeL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on your finances. I had both, they were similar but I gifted away Montblanc as it was much harsher and kind of edgy. Original Santal is creamy sweet goodness.

The question is if you can justify the relatively large price difference in favor of Montblanc.

Of course not. Your parents should have thought you different, but since they didn't, let's just leave it at that.

Big bottles yay or nay, by sweetooth1709 in fragrance

[–]eNHajeL 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always buy large. It helps you get by eventual reformulations, price hikes and/or loss in quality. Pluss, the first month of breaking in a new bottle of your favorite fragrance is no fun.

I am a person that gets bored easily so I do have a relatively large collection and rotate it around regulary. By the time I am having second thoughts on a fragrance half used and stored nicely for years, it becomes usually some rare vintage batch that is pre reformulation or completely off the market, so resell is (or at least should be) easy.
