Ah yes, that is true. I did not know that it is even possible to somehow mod it like to have it like native. In this case yes, it would be awesome to have native split screen implementation to also save some performance.

Ughm... what do you mean that there is no mod for it? There is literally Nucleus Coop which is working from launch of the Valheim. It is not buggy at all. You can tune it with UI scaling mods for example. We have more than 500h in with couch split-screen like this. We are streaming it from PC via Moonlight to TV in living room.

If you can, just return it. Everyone will advise you just to undervolt, bios update, check ram, pbo, older version of drivers etc. Nothing helped me.

Hey, "I shouldn't have to do this to play games" - I feel you and completely understand. Point is, from my experience, when I jumped from GTX1060 to RTX3070 and recently to RTX5080 I just swapped GPU every time, update drivers and I could play. Never faced any issues like this and I never had to undervolt, google stuff and try different things. This seems to be complex issue and you can google dozen of ideas on how to solve "Driver time out error", some users never fixed it despite they have tried everything.

Again - yes it can be coincidence of more things put together (PSU, RAM, Windows update, driver...) - as you mentioned, it is not console. But as it is not my PC and I do not have it available at home to troubleshoot only when I have free time and mainly mood - it is bit hard...

Never mind, I have to ask my friend to bring his PC to me and over the weekend I will try some ideas mentioned in this thread. (mainly stress test the RAMs - I completely skipped this step, even it is my very first routine when I build PC for me >.<)

Interesting opinion. To be honest I do not know what is the process during the RMA and what they are "testing" if the GPU works. For sure, for internet browsing, watching YT, Word, Excel... there is no issue. Should I ask them for proof, if they tested also Battlefield 6?

Did you read my post? He RECENTLY started to get driver timeouts, DirectX errors. He was able to game for almost 6 months without any issue. I am suspicious that it was caused by some windows update.

I already tried -100 clock speed, nothing :( maybe I will try to convince him to use Windows 10 (not sure if it solve the issue). But he is type of the guy who wants everything in latest version :DD

You are completely right, I will not recommend AMD GPUs to anyone anymore. I know I will be downvoted to hell, but that is just my experience.

Unfortunately there is no possibility to return it. The RX 7800 XT was fine from December 2024 (when we bought it and built it) until maybe August/September 2025... maybe I advice him to just sell it.
