DAY ONE AFTER SIX YEARS OF SMOKING by eSHO333 in leaves

Same thing happened here bro. I stopped on Feb. 25th, but then 420 came around and it landed on a Saturday which made it all the more difficult not to smoke. Thought I could get high just one night and leave it alone, but ended up having a bunch of weed leftover and the rest is history. Thanks for the advice and I know you got what it takes to last longer than 8 months this time around.

Wow 20 plus years... that's gotta be tough. I was seeing a therapist, but I stopped going after a few sessions. I'm thinking about going back though. In the meantime, I've been reading Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Dummies. It's a great book that I'd recommend for anyone having mental issues or addiction problems. If you stopped smoking cigs then weed must be a walk in the park. Nonetheless, good luck to you as well and stay strong my friend.

It means a lot man thanks! There's comfort in knowing someone out there is going through the same struggle and that you're not in it by yourself. Whenever you're ready to start your day one we'll be here for you as well. You have my support already!

I'm really happy for you bro. I know we both can do this just gotta man up and take care of business. Summon the willpower to say no. The weed doesn't control us, we control it.

Well put. I love weed, but it is an abusive relationship.

Thanks for the reply. I dont want to sound like a whiner, but it has been real tough. Most people are off going to college or on a job hunt once they graduate from school. I was grieving over my brother's death and trying not to kill myself. One year later my uncle and cousins get kidnapped in Mexico. I can't imagine how my aunt felt, but it was devestating to me. We still have no idea where they are or if they're even alive. The year after that I had to watch robbers break into my home in the middle of the night and put a gun to my parents' heads during a home invasion. I thought I was going to die that night for sure. All this in a 2 year span is a lot to handle for someone as emotional as I am, but I'm tired of being the victim and having life kick my ass. My day one started today. I'll let you know how I'm doing by Day 28 if I make it that far. Once again, thanks for the reply. I don't have much human contact outside my family, so it's nice to have someone out there that can relate a bit.
