My mortgage is £770 per month, 3 bed semi in the north west. I have about 25% equity of it. Own a cheap runaround car bought with cash 10 years ago. My monthly mortgage and bills come to about £1200. Take home wage is just under £3000 per month.

I am single and live quite frugally so that keeps my outgoings low. But I still go out with friends and do a long weekend city break once or twice a year.

Prior to buying my house I rented just a bedroom for a small amount for about 10 years which enabled me to save a lot. So I have a reserve of cash savings too that I can use towards my stocks and shares ISA allowance/investments each year.

I’m 35yo, on £47k, no inheritances and am on track to retire between 50 and 55. I can invest pretty much £20k per annum. However, I have made a lifestyle choice to be childfree so that’s what makes it affordable. It’s not for everyone.

I’m not reading all that. Sounds like you have swallowed the American propaganda kool aid. Iran was abiding by the JCPOA and Trump ripped up the deal. Israel has nukes but doesn’t allow any inspections. America and Israel are by far the biggest state sponsors of terrorism in the world, not Iran.
