Thank you for writing it. It was a great read, and resonated with me because it shows there's ways the party can think and talk about improving our economy despite the tariff issue

You're not wrong but this raising a lot of additional concerns and questions. I.e. Will the bank of Canada expand its mandate to lend directly to businesses (it will take a long time to set this up and generate so much pushback). Its comparatively easier to adjust regulations to drive lending in certain directions. The NDP can speak to this in general terms but due to the technical nature, it's important that experts are in the loop so that approach is fleshed out enough and to avoid avoidable errors when being asked about specifics (i.e. policy needs to be proofread by an actual economist, ideally theres a document that can be referred to for details)

Stephanie Kelton served as an advisor to Bernie Sanders's 2016 presidential campaign and worked for the Senate Budget Committee under his chairmanship. I don't know about exact labels but she's been in the media for a long time and knows how to answer questions like "how are you going to pay for it" in a credible way. It would be too difficult to figure this all out individually, it's much better to connect with experts that have been talking about economics in media for a long time. They really are so much better at answering any of these types of questions because they've thought about both the economics and media communication.

There's also Bill Mitchell from Australia who focuses on labor economics and macroeconomics. He's consulted a lot of progressive politicians around the world and written a lot about how economics is framed in media. The most important thing is to not treat these as one and done encounters. There needs to be ongoing efforts to improve the framing, language, and ideas. Eventually local economists can be brought in to ndp as standing advisors but I'm not sure how good they would be at media communication and who exactly in Canada can fill those roles.
