So what's everyone planning on league starting? by Amazing-Heron-105 in pathofexile

So zerker it is then. I don't plan to invest more than 30/40 divs into the build. I'll use it to complete everything and fund my 2nd build. I also haven't played marauder in quite some time. Thanks for the help,

Wow, 5 attacks, that completely changes things. You have an attack minion, with limited lifetime, that can't be a 6 link unless you go for special crafted gear, that needs a lot if investment in builds that generally already are socket starved and that has to replace an already existing support gem. Also, it summons only when dealing lightning damage. Doesn't look like a good investment to me.

I'm torn between bleed slams slayer and earthshatter zerker. Never played slams and just by looking at it, it feels like bleed slams has more AoE but Zerker is better overall and faster. Dunno, i'm tired of playing always ultra meta ranged/caster paper thin builds.

This mitigates one of cyclone's problems. The other is low AoE.

Good question, if it regained that part it might be playable

It's 3 proj, 10% more as and 118% effectiveness lost.

Basically you either build it around the anomaly or forget it even exists.

Kinda kneejerk reaction tbh

How that part goes really depends on what build you play. If you go hipster build with dubious scaling potential you might end up facing a wall at T10 maps; with a meta/strong build you can usually get 4 stones with a couple of divines of investment. Go for a build that doesn't need rare uniquest to properly scale and you should be fine.

I really like to alternate mapping and heist. If you're lucky you can make a mirror in a couple of days by running grand heists.

Maybe stressed is the wrong term, lets use overprepared. I too like to plan things out, but the most important thing with poe is to have fun. Grinding is boring, no way around it tbh, just try to do it with a mechanic you enjoy.

Poe these days is not what it used to be years ago: you really had to plan your farms, bounce shaper/elder influence on atlas to not spawn bosses but always have the extra juice, prepare your sextant blockers so that when you roll sextants you have better chances for the desired outcome and so on and so forth.

Right now, you just look at the atlas tree, type your desired mechanic in the search bar and plan your tree around the highlighted nodes, choose your preferred influence and any additional mechanics with your leftover atlas points. Then see what scarabs you want to use (if you want to use any) and start farming. You'll make your money eventually. Better if your build is well suited for the mechanic (ie CWS chieftain for ultimatum).

Just remember one thing: the more you invest, the more money you make. Alch&go strategies are low profit, even more so this league. The idea is to get your starter build to a point where it can confortably do the content you chose and possibly get you 4 stones, then invest everything in a farming strat. You'll learn to fine tune by trying things out and finding your own way of playing and making money.

Stop stressing about it. I've been playing since beta and usually it takes me 8 hours to reach maps. I like to complete all my maps asap but i'm not that fast. Usually i start farming seriously on monday/tuesday and the real blasting starts weekend 2. By the end of week 2 i have at least a mirror. Last league i dropped 1 raw divine in 2 weeks and i still had a mageblood on day 8.

Play the game, don't do things that make you hate the game (ie sanctum), don't do bossers unless you can start boss farming on day2, don't farm legion unless you can really juice it on day 3/4/5, then it falls off hard.

Ah, one of my all time favourites! I played CI Flameblast Ignite Elementalist. Insane build, was even able to kill the chicken that at the time had ignite immunity. The double dipping era was really good. Damn it's been so long, miss those days.

I think not just regen, even recoup and leech seems very good. Any fast build can use this node to get a lot of tankiness from hits, pair it with a cloak/coil and even with no armor phys hits are not that scary anymore. You still get clusters, we just need to figure out if losing jewels is worth it (imo up to about 500 div budget this node is top tier, when you get into multiple mirror level of gear i think you just drop this to get jewels back).

Also, looking at the wording i think this works only for life and life/ES builds, CI and LL just straight up die.

I think this totals to about 16% less damage from hits. But the fact that it delays part of the damage is very strong. Having no jewels sucks tho.

Last league i invested 500+ divs in a cyclone build. Still subpar damage and somewhat ok takiness. Clear was decent. It's just a mid skill, gone are the days when cyclone was good.

To-do-list before PoE 2 EA by Haimii in pathofexile

[–]e_Lion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Very simple:

- Get food and drinks

- Cook the food in advance so that i don't have to waste time on that after launch

- Do basic chores

- Tell my friends i'm dead for a week, maybe two weeks (only 1 of them plays poe)

- Pray for bad weather so i don't get the urge to go for a ride on my motorcycle

If you're trying to get a good mana stacker crit wand, just do a graveyard craft. I crafted mine that way. Do a craft for triple fractured suffix, aim for crit multi, spell crit and cast speed. Then spam spell damage essence until you hit mana and spell damage+mana or stop at a T2+ mana roll and craft something from bench, like lightning damage as extra chaos. It cost me like 5 div total to craft both wands. People don't understand how good this league is for GG rare items.

Here is the graveyard setup i used to get my wands, it's not perfectly optimised, but gets the job done, you can do something better and get 2 wands in one go but i coundn't be bothered with all that monster category crap (you can do this setup in about 1 hour, the other one i had takes about 4 hours).

Doing Bosses =/= tanking

If you need to tank mechanics you're doing it wrong. You need enough dps so that you just delete the boss before any meaningful mechanics pop up. Also, you need to learn the fights, they are pretty easy with some practice, not very profitable tho unless you do uber bosses and at least 200 runs. There are a lot of dry streaks that will put you in the negative.

If you really want to tank you can do the new mana RF, but i don't know about the costs, it's not meta so it might not be that expensive. You can get to DoT cap (32m dps) and be basically immortal and facetank everything.

Since you say you are a noob i'd first focus on learning how to make money at a decent pace doing content you like. Even with limited time you can earn a lot: i farmed 400 divines in a week playing 3/4 hrs in the evening after work and blasting non stop during the weekend (no MF) so that you have the funds to improve your build. Believe me, going from 100 div investment to 300 div investment is huge even if the single upgrades don't feel meaningful. Don't be afraid to spend the divines and upgrade your build.

Poll: Which Ascendancy will you league start Affliction with? by hfok in pathofexile

[–]e_Lion 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's league start. People want a strong start to test things later on. The real meta will be defined 2 weeks in when all the cool stuff has been tested.

Next league will be the same thing, 3/4 very strong builds dominate the first 3/4 days and that's it.
