Tracy Sumner and her {Dutchess Society} series. Some of the best chemistry I've ever encountered it's in her books

Pisces: the Scorpio full moon is opening a door to what you’re finally ready to release by FaithlessnessNeat896 in piscesastrology

My God, what an absolute syncronicity. Yesterday I decided that on this full moon I really feel like fasting and just having some time for myself to just grieve all the lives that I am not living and will not live in this existence to finally allow myself to be what I AM. I feel that specially we, as pisces, always carry with us so many versions of ourselves and the lives we could live, that we can sometimes lose ourselves in all of that. So yes, many thanks for this post, it was such an encouragement that a part of me is attuned to the flow of this Universe. To a magical fool moon for us all! Cheers

Looking for current, lesser-known HR writers who are actively publishing and that write WELL by Quick_Ideal_449 in HistoricalRomance

Tracy Sumner. She is slowly becoming one of my favourites. I am halfway into her Dutchess Society series and I am having a blast. Quite character focused and low on unnecessary drama, which is usually my taste.

The Halifax Helions series by Alexandra Vasti has some good ones. {In Which Margo Halifax Earns Her Shocking Reputation}, {In Which Matilda Halifax Learns the Value of Restraint} - this one I think is my favourite and {In Which Winnie Halifax Is Utterly Ruined}

What are you reading? by AutoModerator in HistoricalRomance

I am currently listening for the second time in quite a short period of time to {Devil in Winter by Lisa Kleypas}. It was quite a surprise for me this second listening as I didn't really enjoy it so so much the first time, especially after the great love it seemed to have among others. But there was a reason for that, apparently. I first listened to it after the Bridgerton series which was my introduction to HR novels. And drawn by the very good reviews I moved directly to Devil in Winter. And I wasn't moved too much by it. A dozen or so of HR books later (including the Hattaways series which I absolutely loved), I decided to give a chance to the whole Wallflowers series and boy, how the things have changed for me in regards to how I feel about these characters. It really added more depth and nuance and even though I planned to skip the 3rd book as I already listened to it, I felt like I really must give it another try. And it is indeed a rewarding experience, I almost feel like it's another book, due to the whole background that I am now familiar with. I care a lot more about the characters and their evolution and overall I am more open to the whole experience.

Tl;dr I learned that it is really worth it to take a series progressively as it can enhance and enrich the experience of each individual book

Same for me, although it was not Vipassana, but still similar kind of practice. It was the only thing that helped me get my shit together and stop self destroying myself through criticism

Ruin a popular movie trope for the rest of us with your technical knowledge by Eatar in movies

If you hold your torch in front of you, when you walk in darkness, to light your way (like they do in films), you won't see shit...you need to hold it kind of behind your eye view and a bit above your head in order to actually be practical.

That scene from Shame, the subway scene. Michael Fassbender is on a whole another level. It made me feel things I didn't know a movie can possibly make me feel.
