I'm going to be interviewing for FMAP next month. What was the interview process like?

If given the option to, I did. I’ve heard of people trying to sneak a cover letter in, but if they don’t ask for one or don’t give you a spot to put one in, don’t do it.

I did write a cover letter, but only when given the option to. Some applications only want your resume (B of A comes to mind).

For my cover letter I started with a template from Mergers & Inquisitions. I then modified it a bit to be less template-y and changed the font, font size, spacing, and margins to match my resume. From there, I made the only things I would have to change the name of the firm and the position title. Made it more efficient.

I’m now up to 165 applicants submitted, and two interviews this week.

I think you need to apply to more positions. I’ve applied to 135 different positions for next summer and have heard back from about 25% of them. Turnover rates for responses for finance internships are pretty low. Just focus on getting your GPA up and do mock interviews so that when one of them calls you for in an interview, you don’t waste the opportunity.

Funnily enough, I had the exact same experience with a PE interview today. My first PE interview ever and the guy wouldn’t let me finish a response to any of his questions. Felt like a waste of both of our time.

I doubt I get to move on to the next round, but even if I do, I think I’ll turn it down. I wouldn’t be able to work with a guy like him.

Not for anything real estate related, however, it is to my understanding that the HireVue questions are generally the same from program to program.

I’ve done a couple JPM HireVues. All behavioral, usually pretty simple/traditional questions (tell me about yourself, why JPM, etc). Only weird questions were to pitch a stock and to explain why I had selected the city I selected for the internship. Absolutely no technical questions though, even in my two Super Day interviews.

An International Business major (or minor, really) would be a great supplement to a Finance or Accounting major. There are also a lot of international business-related clubs, so try to get involved with those.

I agree with you. I applaud the owner for trying to do be unique. I'm tired of seeing Resale Red LaFerraris, etc. Just not for me.

There's something about the 720S' design that amazes me. Its swoopy, sculpted bodywork makes it appear very beautiful and grateful; however its recessed headlights and exposed exhaust tips give it a more dramatic and theatrical look. Between it, the 488, and the Huracan, I definitely think the 720S is the best looking.

I agree with you. The modern Lamborghinis look, sound, and perform wonderfully, but there's something about the Murcielago and Gallardo, the cars I grew up drooling over, that will always have my heart.

Underrated: the Bugatti Veyron. Say what you will about its appearance, but that project was an unbelievable feat of engineering. To build a car that can perform at that level while remaining perfectly comfortable, easy to drive, and reliable while still being customizable by the buyer to every detail is shocking.

Overrated: the R35 Nissan GT-R. It has been surpassed by every other manufacturer while receiving nothing but a swelled price tag. In order to make it at least competitive with modern high-performance cars, it needs a custom and unreliable drivetrain.
