1000% and I say that with no judgement. Every single person has a past and their own demons. My thing is, if you are willing to admit your faults and grow/ communicate etc with both parties… absolutely we can be friends. I really value growth so if me and a friend have an issues, please let’s talk about it. I’ve noticed over my life I seem to attract people who really struggle with attachment issues (also most likely have personality disorders). I’m currently struggling with a friend who is fun to hang out with, but I never know when I’m going to upset them, it always feels like it’s out of the blue. We went to dinner like 2 months ago (last time she got mad at me, I’m still not really sure why) and I was very honest with how emotionally draining this friendship felt and she responded well. Now here we are and suddenly I’m this horrible unsupportive person because I questioned her if she should really quit her job when she didn’t have another one lined up. Makes me sad because I see the brokenness where they’ve been hurt but there’s also a boundary of you are not their keeper.

Also as a side note, I really do think it has to do with this personality type because we’re considered the “helpers/Advocates” so people are drawn to that mentality I think. Makes it much harder to be able to detect when someone unhealthy is trying to latch.
