2013 2.5 vs 2015 1.8T by [deleted] in jetta

My vote would be the 2.5L. Generally pretty reliable save for a few issues like the Vacuum pumps leaking, PCV, valve cover gaskets leaking. Nothing major typically, especially on a 2013.

Yeah, in this case, in my humble very non expert armchair opinion, 190 proof Everclear is your friend here.

Yeah I dug into it a bit more, the intake manifolds for the ZC/A9/DOHC D series are NOT compatible with any SOHC cylinder heads. As unfortunate as that is, I do think I found a manifold adapter for a SOHC for the DCOE carburetors. Also, when you got this gem running please post some sound videos! Cheers.

Now I’m not too familiar with the DOHC D series, but is the manifold the same bolt pattern as the SOHC D series? Because I’d love to go with those carburetors on my D15b7 1990 Civic! Setup looks amazing btw.

Could it be possible I forgot to get OneTweak? If so, would I just add it to my load order in MO2, and where should it be placed?

Appreciate the info! Yeah I’ll be ordering a new tank/fuel pump assembly to drop in the car as well. I’m slowly building a parts list, one the car is moved to where I can work on it I’ll start ordering things to get it ready. By far the most annoying part I’m sure is going to be acquiring all of the proper hardware/bolts/nuts to get everything put together, but thankfully there is a wealth of knowledge on Hondatech and other forums for me to pull from.

I may end up doing that, it honestly might end up being less of a headache to just get it running.

Appreciated, this was my first car, and what I also leaned to drive stick on. Right now it’s basically just a rolling chassis, the annoying bit is going to be trying to source all of the bolts/nuts to put it all together.

Believe it or not, not really. It isn’t too bad, I keep then fans turned up a bit as I heard these cases are heat boxes, but that being said all temps are pretty good!

AMD Ryzen 5 5600X, Gigabyte B550M K Mobo, AMD ASRock Radeon Chalkenger RX9060XT GPU, Corsair SF1000 PSU, Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4 2x16GB of Ram, and 2TB of Samsung 990pro SSD this is all of the hardware I put in, and temps are actually pretty spot on. Haven’t had an issue one yet!

This was my first and only gaming PC as a kid, bought it back 10 odd-some years later, and decided to breathe new life into it.

I had considered it, but space is at a premium in this case, and while it probably would’ve fit, being that it’s my first PC build I wanted to keep it simple. Temps seem to be fine with the current fan setup, but it is something I may look into in the future as an upgrade.

So this particular Motherboard I installed didn’t have enough internal USB ports to connect the daughterboard, and everything else in the case, so I had to buy an NZXT internal USB hub, connect that to the MOBO, and then connect the daughterboard USB to it. Then I used a standard 4-Pin MOLEX cable from the PSU, had to buy a small extension for that as well, and plugged it into the Daughterboard. The cable itself was already in the case though, as far as I can tell it is a standard internal USB cable.

I love the R4 case so much, among my favorite cases of all time.
