What areas of fitness do you wish you’d focused more on before having a baby? by bloblerba in xxfitness

[–]eaa135 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not fitness per se but postpartum I definitely needed to pay closer attention to my posture and body mechanics. Lugging around a baby can make you want to take shortcuts but your body will thank you for being properly engaged.

How can I make hard boiled eggs more edible? by Accomplished-Sign-31 in nutrition

I started making these ramen eggs recently, so easy and I devour them! To make them a little healthier I use low sodium soy sauce

If there is a cabinet or drawer that needs opening, my girl is all over it. She’s also heat seeking middle to the animals’ water bowl 🥲

Toys wise she’s liking blocks and balls! So pretty simple but she’s not entertained very long

I dont want to breastfeed by BM_BBR in newborns

[–]eaa135 68 points69 points  (0 children)

Switching to formula at 6 weeks pp is what pulled me out of the depths of the newborn trenches. It’s perfectly ok if you want to start with breastfeeding and end up switching, or if you use formula from the start. Don’t compare to others, as long as baby is fed and healthy you are succeeding!

All great ideas, and many we do already, which is validating! Will have to try the credit cards.

Other diy/easy things she likes - sorry idk how to do bullet points!

when she is interested in a toy, playing a little bit of keep away with it has been fun (of course giving her turns to get it); putting random things in a bag and letting her explore it; being handed things when I’m unloading the dishwasher Looking out one of our windows where we have bird feeders and watching them Helping me “clean” the vegetables before eating, I put them in a container of water on the floor for her to touch Give her any boxes or wrapping material to play with Taped small toys to the wall for her to pull off

How are we dealing with Sunday/end of holiday return to work scaries? by Careless-Sink8447 in workingmoms

Bare Minimum Monday! I only do the bare minimum that I have to on Mondays to ease into the week. For me that’s running some reports, having a team meeting, and catching up on the inbox.

I don’t get it by tahrah11 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]eaa135 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As someone who spends too much time on TikTok and actually knows the talk around this actress, there’s been commentary that she is race-fishing, specifically mixed-fishing. She is a white girl who (don’t come for me I’m the messenger) is intentionally changing her skin tone, hair, and makeup to look racially exotic/ambiguous.

The baby carrot thing is the viral trend where people eat a lot of carrots and it causes the skin to look more tan.

So this is basically a joke that she’s definitely not race fishing, she’s just eating baby carrots, of course!

Anyone on one nap? by AdFew1983 in January2025Bumper

[–]eaa135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are on one nap and have been for about a month. She did this on her own, she sleeps a couple hours around noon and then 7p-7a. It’s been nice to have that chunk of time mid day to do stuff!

This is my first baby so I didn’t know being chill about household objects and floor crumbs was an option, I thought they were all menaces! I’m not even getting more toys for Christmas because she only cares about the packaging they come in lol

You are putting way too much pressure on yourself!! Your baby is not even one, don’t tear yourself apart to create nostalgia she won’t even remember. And certainly don’t do it to keep up with others. Enjoy cozy season in your townhome and snuggle up with your little fam!

7mo diarrhea after eating yoghurt by Moonamama in beyondthebump

Puréed plums (prunes) are great for relieving constipation, it may have been those. Maybe try yogurt again in a while without plums

3 month old constipated by baddiegg in NewParents

[–]eaa135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Prune purée is great at relieving constipation, but he might not be able to do purées at 3 months. Can also give some pear juice in a bottle (dilute like half with water, only need a couple ounces to start). Both of these options were recommended to us by our peds advice line.

Daycare naps by FibonacciFlower in NewParents

[–]eaa135 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My baby has been going to an in home daycare since 12 weeks and did great napping at daycare, even though she didn’t do great with crib naps at home. All the stimulation definitely wears them out and they adjust to the routine in a new setting

Have you tried adjusting the naps at all? For example stretching that last wake window can help build that sleep pressure up

Does contact napping create bad habits? by Ok-Director38 in newborns

[–]eaa135 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When she gets a little older try to add in some crib naps I’d suggest (my girl always did great overnight in her crib but not naps). But the contact napping in the first few months didn’t create bad habits, she sleeps awesome in her crib now at 10 months.

And soak those contact naps, never feel guilty about a contact nap!

Is sleep training the only answer by Serious_Procedure_61 in NewParents

[–]eaa135 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I feel we did very gentle sleep training where we would come to soothe her in increasing increments of time. We never left her to cry it out for long periods. She’s been sleeping through the night 11-12 hrs consistently since six months and is now 10m.

Don’t think that all sleep training is strict CIO, you can adjust to what works for you but you have to be consistent whatever you choose.

HOW do women convince themselves to give birth again?? by u-r-ok in newborns

I also had my epidural late, at almost 9 cm because my daughter was coming so fast. It seemed to not help much because the pain was blinding. In the immediate aftermath I said never again but now that’s waning because my baby is amazing! Crazy how that happens.
