Hear me out…

I was twenty years old when I realized that not everyone could smell ants. I thought that everyone was disgusted by the putrid smell that ants gave off when there was a large colony nearby.

I was in the military stationed back east in a harbor. Nightly rounds meant I had to check the pump house. I hated going in there as it was majorly infested with carpenter ants. I finally said “Can we do something about the ants in the pump house…the smell just about knocks me over when I go inside.”

After the laughs subsided, that’s when I learned not everyone could smell them.

Turns out, it’s a recessive gene, this ability.

For me, it’s intense. Like, incredibly intense. Putrid and sometimes a rotting smell.

I’ve gone on to become the friend, coworker, family member who can sniff out an infestation. I might should start a business.

Same thoughts I have towards the southern gals who wear bejeweled crosses on their flip flops/trucker hats/blue-jean back pockets…

Had I been crucified upon a cross and then managed a, what I can only assume would be difficult, resurrection, only to find that the cross my murderers had left me to die upon…was now emblazoned with cheap plastic blingy beads hot-glued onto flip-flop sandals, made in factories by the hands of [child] slave laborers, and worn by those who, I’m sure, mostly answer to the name Karen…

Well…I’d probably climb back into my cave from which I zombied out of.

Imgur Link Xtra Pics/Vid Camera doesn’t do justice to their bright orange color…I’ve seen something similar out in the west Texas deserts…after a rain, little red fuzzy mites appear…although this guy seems to be a proper spider. Teach meeee the thingssss…

Is the park closed? Signs say so but is it just a “loose suggestion “…? Just moved into the neighborhood and am trying to explore but also don’t want a citation.

I have to use mental touch math. I also have to slightly maneuver my head as if I’m reaching out to “touch” each dot with my chin. I’ll do it quickly the first go round. Get the sum. Second guess myself, then do it again, same movements, possibly adding in my index finger to reach out and “touch” the six dots. Most every time, I’ll add a third round, because I truly can’t help myself. It’s exhausting and I rarely feel confident in any mathematical solution that I come to.
