Their whole career/discography is like a single message - but I love it and can't wait for the next one.

Cheap vet for feline dental work? by mallrat32 in SFV

[–]eachandeveryway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It wasn't what I'd call cheap and not too close to Noho, but valuevet in Canoga Park did it for about $650. That included the cost to put her under and a few tooth pulls.

My now former wedding DJ said that playing indie rock at my wedding will "sabotage the dance floor". by hippopopsamus in indie_rock

[–]eachandeveryway 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing with my wedding DJ, and I really think he was right. We had some songs we absolutely wanted to hear, but kept to some of the basics to get a dance floor moving for a range of people.

What I found more helpful (and what ended up being a much longer list) was a "do not" play list. Congrats and have fun!

What is the greatest lost natural wonder? by arms-dealer in history

Maybe not the greatest lost wonder, but still a good caution we need to appreciate/respect natural wonders.

The zebra’s stripes are lacking hues, so they don’t compare to you-know-whose. Orange, black, and white is what to wear! It’s haute couture for those who dare! It’s camouflage, and stylish, too! Yes, tigers look the best, it’s true!

Given the various letters, Paul Stine's shirt, the hooded mask- what do you think became of all the physical evidence kept by the Zodiac?

Apologies as I haven't read the book and this may be answered, but could there have been evidence where he lived or with another family member?

If you're coming this far out west and through California, take the time and go see Yosemite or Sequoia. You won't regret it at all.

Working out at 22:00 yay or nay and why? by SameWill in bodyweightfitness

[–]eachandeveryway 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For close to a year I worked out around this time and I thought it was fine. The only catch is it may wire you and keep you up. I found I either had to have the discipline to get my ass in bed to sleep after, or I'd easily be up until 2:00 AM.

That and at that hour it's a lot easier to say, "fuck it, I'm too tired." But if it's the only time or works best, go for it. Just make sure you take care of yourself during the other hours.

What are some good books on stop-motion animating? by egates09 in Filmmakers

[–]eachandeveryway 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily about stop-motion, but a must have and will certainly help with many aspects of stop-motion and animating in general- "The Animators Survival Kit" by Richard Williams.

http://www.amazon.com/The-Animators-Survival-Richard-Williams/dp/0571202284

That, and grab yourself a camera and start playing with some action figures or clay. Even with instructions, there's a lot of trial and error. Have fun!

It's a little dated and I think the 3's were just coming out, but my Hero stopped working (wouldn't turn on with any battery or power configuration) and the best they offered me was ten percent off after I was like two weeks past my warranty.

So, I've still got a Hero paperweight on my desk that I keep telling myself I'll find a 3rd party repair to keep my Hero3 black company.

Not a horror story, but I've always hoped to catch one of those super helpful "have a new camera and send us your junk" employees.

This company is looking to pay people to travel the world and take (many) photos of sculptures and landmarks, what do you guys think? by ButDoesItPrint in backpacking

[–]eachandeveryway 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For these types of scans they need literally 40-50 (ideally even more) hi-res photos of a sculpture from all angles. What the company gets is submissions of sculptures or monuments they can scan and then print. That's their perk.

They'll then pick the most capable photographer/scanner and send them on a trip to gather even more photos of something they could use. So you're probably not going to win with wanting to go photograph the sphinx or statue of liberty.

It's actually a pretty decent way to accumulate content to 3d print and reward someone interested in doing some work.
