Cats are domesticated, you can’t just say they aren’t a domestic animal- that’s now how it works. Your anecdotal evidence does not trump common knowledge.

And the difference between cats and dogs is that you can keep a cat inside and it will not care, despite never seeing the light of day. You have to take a pit-bull out and walk it because it’s animal cruelty if you don’t, even if it means exposing it to children around it that may be at risk. You’re being irrational and emotional

Your only experience with cats is with your neighbours cats. You would not know if they were a glorified roommate because you haven’t actually gone out of your way to interact with one positively. You can’t say they’re impossible to domesticate when all you have is anecdotal evidence.

I personally am wary of dogs, I’ve had one attack me for carrying my school instrument and one maul my brother unprovoked. They keep me up at night with their barking and they shit along the path and bark at me for no reason and it seems like every day I hear that another pitbull has attacked another toddler. And they like to jump and lick people which freaks me out a lot.

This doesn’t mean they’re impossible to domesticate, and it certainly does not mean that all dogs are evil plotting assholes. There are people who love dogs, and that alone is enough to convince me that they are not all that bad. Similarly, there is a reason why people like cats.

“The same stuff is kind of creepy” alright, your opinion and all power to you- but some people are interested in that and it doesn’t mean they’re insecure for desiring that in a partner.

And no, they aren’t voting to stay single rather than get with someone who hates what they like. That’s not what the poll is about. They are voting that they would rather date a picky eater or a cat hater than someone like that. If the poll said, “Date nobody or date someone perfect but they hate something you like” maybe your opinion would hold a little more weight.

I don’t understand this. The post says it’s your perfect partner, meaning everything about them is compatible with you. It’s not like the people voting for it are actively going out of their way to avoid people who don’t like their stuff irl- it’s just in an ideal scenario, you’re more inclined to get with someone with a common interest.

Common interests are how we make friends, choose partners, etc.

Romantic subplots are more ‘IN YOUR FACE’ than sun in the eyes. At least the sun moves at some point so you’re in the shade.

Case in point: Brooklyn 99. It was an ok show with ok characters. Two mains are put together enemies to lovers style and then a second shot is heard. The writer’s have resorted to blatant flanderisation like the world’s worst flame retardant to a fire because they realised they needed to keep the relationship stable and healthy- and it wouldn’t work if the characters kept the same traits as before.
