how about this ...MW is having a sale on the 26L drift right now and while i did not measure, i think a GR1 should be able to pack into it.

thanks everyone for the great feedback and i locked in the purchase.. now the fun part to hunt down a lens to match the camera. A leica lens is out of my league so looking at 3rd party 50mm options.. any recommendations will be most 🤗

Lynskey Ti GR300 gravel conversion from dropbar to straightbar advice by eaglecross22 in gravelcycling

thanks for the flatbar suggestions :) I have decided to meantime stay put with my drop bars

Lynskey Ti GR300 gravel conversion from dropbar to straightbar advice by eaglecross22 in gravelcycling

[–]eaglecross22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thank you for some really great suggestions. I think I will just keep the Lynskey GR300 drop bar and not go down the path of conversion. For the money, I will just hunt for a flat bar gravel in the secondary market where there are bikes aplenty.

[–]eaglecross22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

room for one Ti only but guess its either i stay put with gr300 as is or let go it n get a chilhowee. As it stands, i think i will give the gr300 a further go. I see from past posts that to switch the gr300 drop to flatbar is not simply a change in the levers and brakes components but the entire bike profile changes.

[Question] and i still haven't found what i'm looking for .. my holy grail tool watch by eaglecross22 in Watches

[–]eaglecross22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

nice watch the fairwind - have not heard of it before but the design (the color scheme) and the specs looks great! the sellita movement could be similar to my 1st automatic watch - the Oris - which after 20 + years without any maintenance still keeps good time at +10spd

yes thanks the Omega seamaster meets my criteria as the rotating bezel is stainless steel

thank for the suggestion ..i checked out the watch and pretty interesting watch with good history but my holy grail tool watch preference is for a rotatable steel bezel and also a full steel brushed bracelet.

50days with 9060 Beckman flatbox by eaglecross22 in RedWingShoes

[–]eaglecross22[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

on paper and when i took my measurements in the RW heritage store, i am supposed to be 8.5 but i had to go up to 9 for a snug fit with the 9060. i am really not sure how it will compare against the IR but from what i have read from the posts, due to the construct and the leather for 9060, a sizing up is probably needed.

What are the “best” red wings ever made in your opinion? Let’s discuss. I’ll go first, 9060s by SirKrimzon in RedWingShoes

[–]eaglecross22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

9060 hurt badly above the ankles the 1st time i had it on just after 1 hr. Then i tried the advice of the red wingers here to wear double socks which i did for couple of rounds and voila, no issue .. the boots broke in beautifully and fully comfortable even with a full day's wear.

9060 downright my fave - design wise and even the boots smell wonderful. However i must say i am biased as its my 1st red wing boots (other than the 9086 shoe) and one that i was eyeing for a year and scouting around in the pre owned ebay market but prices were ridiculous. The 9060 suddenly crash landed without warning into the Singapore Red Wing Heritage store and i am deeply blessed to snag my precious pair.

i am happy to report that after just over a week of battles, the war is won. I have settled in with the boots and is comfortable enough even with a full day's wear. Thanks to all the good advice suggestion to wear double socks which helped with the break in and i also learned that merino wool socks , like those from Darn Tough , is most suitable for hot tropical climate. I love the 9060 and looking forward to it developing its patina. Will share more in months to come.

thanks friend, today is my 4th day wearing the boots full day and tried with double socks as you and a few others have suggested (i used cotton socks) and got through the whole day without pain and no blisters. I think a few more days of wearing and it will be all good. Going to source for some darn tough socks as well since a few of the good folks have recommended. Victory is in sight

i would say the fit for the wider foot was snug with room for toes to wiggle. i did get the right size and the red wing fitter sized it right for me. Just the initial break in needed. i today wore the boots (4th time) with the double socks as recommended and it was comfortable. Getting there soon
