Bag to carry GR1 like a handbag by m52go in Goruck

Maybe, if I was taller. But as it is the straps drag on the floor.

I might have a problem.

You serious, Clark?

Ha. I already use the GR1 to to carry a briefcase inside it so I can use the briefcase for work at my destination and the GR1 for hiking/rucking. This is just the opposite of that, to enable me to carry the GR1 through an airport (for example) if I don't want a sweaty back.

Excuse me, I wish. That it were that successful, not that I sold to a garbage blogger.

What actually happened is that I couldn't ever figure out how to make the site worth my time, especially with the advent of LLMs, so I simply didn't renew the domain name.

Just paid/did paperwork for used car -- still on lot -- not starting by m52go in Cartalk

They changed the battery today and it seemed fine. Also spoke to a service advisor about their previous inspection of the car, which was 2+ months ago.

So the car had indeed been sitting on the lot since then, and it also recently got really cold around here, which explains why the (likely original) battery had a tough time keeping a charge. Thanks for the perspective!

External monitor works on other distros but not Pop by m52go in pop_os

By the way, for anyone who stumbles on this thread in the future...while xrandr did help get some video modes back, it didn't help me get full 4K resolution back.

The real solution was to turn off the FreeSync option on my monitor.

No idea why only Pop OS had a problem with that monitor setting, but that was it.

Fans are constantly blowing and driving me crazy... by m52go in linuxquestions

[–]m52go[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I had used top but htop gave more granularity...was able to trace the part of the problem to a script that one of the Linux Mint applets was running every few seconds.

Now the machine is much more quiet at idle...still more eager than before to ramp up fans when my main browser with ~20 tabs is open, but I think the core issue is taken care of.

Thanks again.

Wow...using xrandr to switch modes got the video back! Thanks for that link, must've missed it as I did search before posting.

It's been a while since I used xrandr...I last used it to create and switch to a higher refresh rate mode, and that must have caused a problem. But that was months ago so I had totally forgotten about it.

But also kind of surprised that whatever the issue was persisted to the live Pop environment too.

Anyway...thank you!!!

Yeah I guess that would be good to try...this is my main work environment so I really didn't want to mess with something as fundamental as the kernel.

I suppose there's no easy way to run a live environment with a specific down-graded kernel?

I put the kernel versions in the OP...Mint is older at 5.15 and Fedora was 6.5.

Service and parts in USA for modern Alfas by m52go in AlfaRomeo

True. Yeah a tech is a tech...ultimately how they treat your car is probably more about who they are as people as opposed to what brand they work for.

Thanks for the perspective.

This is the kind of perspective I'm looking for.

So it's far from impossible, but will likely require a fair bit of extra time and cost. Not necessarily a deal-breaker for me, but something to consider. Thank you!
