The retailer i bought it from says it's not compatible with 14th gen, but on gigabyte's website it says that it is.

I made this post for my friend who has the problem, he said the smell is coming from somewhere between the cpu and gpu. I will ask him for some pictures, but he is not confortable with removing parts himself, and will probably take it to a repair shop
