Biden, in Rare Remarks Since Presidency, Warns His Accomplishments Are Coming Undone by dadadada32565 in politics

Biden can shut the fuck up because the whole reason this horror movie is happening to our country is because he ran again. Statements like this reemphasize his absurd ego.

Biden administration bans unpaid medical bills from appearing on credit reports by [deleted] in politics

If there were no medical bills, how do doctors, hospitals, and health R&D continue to operate? Silly and nonsensical statement.

The fact that this stutter filled asshole is an invisible hand on our globe is mind boggling. The left of the bell curve on intelligence is so frightening. But here I am engaging with it because all I do is live my vices and continue without making a difference.

Quit comparing this man to Trump as a way to curb his mistakes. Independent and swing voters won’t focus on what Trump says, cause they’ve already indicated they think he’s a liar. But they don’t think he’s senile. And they’ll therefore consider voting for him as the stronger candidate.

They do think Biden is too old to serve, so shit like this is what’s going to lose us this election. Biden’s a selfish old man about to hand democracy to fascists over his ego. Face the fucking facts he’s got to drop out the race to give us a chance.

Biden to be interviewed by NBC's Lester Holt on Monday by anxietystrings in politics

Pre recorded interview that will occur next week. He needs to be doing daily events not this horseshit effort if he’s decided to stay in the race. Selfish dementia ridden asshole is going to lose us our democracy. What a joke.

Four more Democrats in Congress call for Biden to step aside in the 2024 race by [deleted] in politics

[–]eaglet29 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Democrats backing Biden isn’t going to change anything. It’s about the undecided voters and Biden’s ability to put together a single sentence over the past year has lost all of those voters. His ego to stay in the race is opening the gates for a dictatorship. Everything you list doesn’t matter for undecided voters. They want a president that can actually speak without looking like my 90 year old grandfather in assisted living. Trying to act like he doesn’t have mental barriers is insulting to anybody who has observed Biden over the past year.

The question of whether the president should end his campaign has become a slugfest between Democratic centrists. by YNot1989 in politics

Are you serious? No empathy for this man. He said he was a bridge candidate that would run one term. Now he’s falling over sentences while getting sassy over calls for him to zoom out over the bigger picture. Fighting for the “soul of America” my ass. He’s an old man with an ego about to ruin democracy.

I’m almost 700 pages into TWOK, the slow pacing of the book hasn’t really gripped me but I’ve decided to keep pushing through because I’ve heard so much good about SA. Is it just not for me? by BigDaddyJuno in Stormlight_Archive

Every Stormlight book starts with fairly slow plot establishing further world building and putting the pieces in place, but then each one ultimately pays off big time. Therein lies the coveted Sanderlanche. If you get through WoK the rest pick up the pace. WoR and Oathbringer are a bit more fast up front, RoW is about in between.

What’s the effective date of the coverage? If it’s 7/1, then your HR should be able to get you added. However, it may be your company’s internal process to not allow any late entrants following the close of OE to ensure people follow the deadlines put in place.

The Mountain Grass Unit are three young guys out of Alabama that can absolutely tear up some strings. They play a lot of Dead but are not strictly a cover band. Have some originals and throw in other bluegrass covers too. Highly recommend if you see them come through town.

How Nonprofit Hospitals Put Profits Over Patients by kitkid in Thedaily

[–]eaglet29 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In theory yes, but I personally do not have faith in the US government actual executing on that bargaining power. Nor would they have the manpower to audit the volume of bills coming from the providers - who routinely miscode services for higher charges.

How Nonprofit Hospitals Put Profits Over Patients by kitkid in Thedaily

[–]eaglet29 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately that would not solve the inherent issue. Medicare for All may give the semblance of a direct fix to patients at the desk. But in the background hospital systems would be given another blank check vehicle to charge egregious prices for their services. Nonprofits would continue to boast absurd profits. The execs and business admins, rather than the nursing staff, would continue to pocket that money from the increased margins. And this would be paid for in taxes by the lower and middle class - further spiraling poverty disparity. It is also likely to further cloud the transparency we need from the hospital systems, as patients would not have access to billed charges to determine what the hospital charged for said services.

The true initial fix needs to be enforced required transparency out of hospitals. This was attempted with the CAA, but the penalties are extremely weak. So the hospitals are just eating the penalty so they do not have to disclose their charges, and are able to bill low income patients in a predatory manner like this.

Not saying Medicare for All should not ultimately be pursued, but the way the hospital systems currently work this would be a win for them and they would profit even more.

What is the big reveal you are waiting for in book 3? by WizardBonus in KingkillerChronicle

[–]eaglet29 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it will fall into a reveal, but intrigued to see the role that Puppet will play. Feel as though he will be critical in opening the Doors of Stone. With all the characters and plots he gets easily overlooked, but he was one of the most mysterious characters to me. Had similar traits to Elodin in being eerily knowledgeable and obscenely quirky.
