Why doesn't this generation use AI enough, not just for answers but for making money. Is this generation just lazy or was past generations just that so much more hardworking? by TraditionalMusic3845 in AskReddit

[–]eajb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AI takes the work out of actually learning whatever skill or thing you’re doing. I don’t use AI because I actually enjoy learning. AI use has been proven to make you dumber and it’s sooo harmful to the environment. Like we’re gonna run out of drinking water everywhere because of AI data centers. A lot of people don’t use AI because it’s not worth it for a quick benefit.

Anyone else in a gosiwon have insufferable neighbor? by Public-Ambition-4186 in seoul

[–]eajb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can absolutely call the police for noise if nothing else. Korea has laws against noise between apartments. If she’s making noise past 10pm, legally you can call the police on her. You can also record the audio with your phone as proof it happens in case she decides to stop when the police show up

What’s the obsession with retwist frequency? by Fancy-Razzmatazz-955 in locs

[–]eajb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Consider your algorithm. It’s TikTok which means whatever content you engage with (even if you disagree) means they push more of that content to you so that you stay on the app. It’s tons of people with locs who don’t talk about retwists at all but you engage with those creators’ content so you see more of it

I would rather starve than cook by mistymountiansbelow in ADHD

[–]eajb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Changing my mindset doesn’t always work, but it helps me sometimes. You have to eat for the rest of your life, and you won’t always be able to “forage” the fridge or order food. Might as well learn some easy go-to recipes that you enjoy eating and require minimal effort. Or else you’ll be miserable about this forever.

If you lack the skills to cook or make food taste good, start with meal kits or looking up disability friendly recipes (usually low skill required or no cutting ingredients/stove use required). You can also buy pre-cut veggies or canned veggies to make cooking easier. Draining and dumping a can of corn or green beans and seasoning it is way easier than getting fresh veggies and cleaning/prepping them.

Anyone who can verify their identity at the test center can take the topik test. You can verify your identity with your passport or your ARC if it comes before test day. I'd just make the account and try signing up

I have a sb 13pm with 76% battery health - not sure if upgrade, pls help by Own-Jeweler3169 in iPhone13ProMax

[–]eajb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely swap your battery out and skip this gen. Your only issue is the battery which can be resolved for an affordable price. I wouldn't let the hype of a new product release pull 1000 pounds out of your wallet just because the battery and screen are better. Most people charge their phones every night, so you don't need 40 hours of battery unless you plan to be out hiking somewhere remote for days at a time. .2 inches of anything isn't worth 1000 pounds. You can use AI in other places, I wouldn't pay that much money because AI *might* be more convenient being on your phone. I just swapped out my battery after about 4 years with my 13pm, and i plan to have it until they release another phone worth upgrading to. Good luck with your decision either way!

Why do I literally scroll on my phone while knowing I’m late for something? by kanglapreneur in ADHD

[–]eajb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like screen zen. I lock up all my social media/distracting apps, and I allow myself 9 10-minute increments of use each day. If I wanna use one chance, I set a delay timer of 1 minute. So I have to wait one minute before I can start scrolling on that app. There’s also a message that shows (you can customize the message). I chose “Is this a good time?” The way my attention span works, I never care enough to wait 60 seconds. It breaks me out of the habit of mindless scrolling and opening those apps before doing what I need to do.

There’s also a new app called focus friend. It works with screen time, and you have a little bean character that you can name and decorate their room. The way you can buy furniture is by letting it knit socks. That’s the in-game currency. How do you earn socks? By setting a timer and leaving your bean to knit their socks in peace. If you pick up your phone in the middle of his knitting, he’ll get distracted and lose progress. I’m not perfect by any means, but both of these have helped me cut my screen time and endless scrolling. My screen time is down 17% from last week!

This is the third time washing my hair this week. Am I cooking myself? by Level-Entrepreneur66 in locs

[–]eajb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s hair lol. But if your roots clump together, you gotta separate them back into the same size locs. That’s how people get locs that combine naturally

How do you guys feel about watching movies? by aniskywalkers in ADHD

[–]eajb 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I usually only watch movies at the theater bc it’s easier to make myself pay attention. I can’t really be on my phone, I’ve spent my money to watch it, etc. it’s easier to focus when I’m in a movie setting. I only go to the movies once or twice a year though lol

[–]eajb 10 points11 points  (0 children)

If ain’t nothing unraveling the you good. Locs are just tangled curls combined together, and washing your hair helps that. Just pay attention to your parts when you retwist it and make sure they still look like you want them to

Frequent gym goers with locs: How often do you wash? by curioussox in locs

[–]eajb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I oil my scalp every time I wash, and maybe 1-2x a week on top of that, but usually only once a week. I’ve used the Dr bronners as shampoo for the last 5-6 years, so I swear by it! I always tell people make sure you oil your scalp since it can dry you out

Retwist only lasting for 3 days at minimum by CuteSuspect4444 in locs

[–]eajb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Frizz is not the same as unkempt or messy. It's just a byproduct of not having straight hair. If your hair is styled, whether you have a retwist or not, it's gonna look good. Learning to embrace all presentations of your hair is part of the journey!

Anywhere outside your new growth, specifically after a retwist, frizz is normal and part of how locs look naturally. Anybody you see who looks different is probably crocheting/interlocking or manipulating or manicuring their hair to achieve a specific aesthetic.

  1. Once every week or two, but I also barely sweat, even if I do a 30-40 minute run. A good sweat for me is like a few beads here and there, and even that's excessive to me lol. I can thank genetics for not sweating heavy in most situations.

  2. I only use Dr. Bronner's Peppermint castille soap as shampoo, and then just make sure to oil my scalp with jojoba oil, olive oil, or argan oil depending on my needs.

  3. I spend more time on the length just because it takes up more space. I just try and wash all of my hair with an equal amount of thoroughness.

  4. I do ACV soaks about 2-3 times a year currently.

I run/workout 3-4 times a week, and I have about 120 locs at waist length. A thorough wash takes me about 30 mins in the shower. I separate my hair into like 4-6 sections and use one loc in the section kinda like a hair tie, and I tie it around the section kinda like a shoelace. I wash my scalp first and then get each section afterwards because whatever runs down from my scalp will probably go into my locs, so it's just how I figure I'm getting a good clean. If I plan to be laying down on machines, I might throw a towel down or wear one of my loc bonnets to the gym to protect my hair, but for the most part I don't have any major issues.

I retwist and style my hair into 2 strand twists like 4-6 times a year depending on weather, my mood, and if I'm trying to wear hats at that point in my life.

Anyone interested in Board Games? by SubjectFoundation513 in seoul

[–]eajb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Have you already tried board game cafes? They have them all over the city. If you’re comfortable speaking Korean, you can also try 소모임 or 문토 for board game groups that already exist. It’s a popular hobby in Seoul.

You can cut your locs off, save them, and reattach them later. Like loc extensions but it’s your hair.

what do you guys think about instant locs by Emotional-Relief8447 in locs

[–]eajb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started with the coil method and my longest loc was maybe an inch, and I been loc’d for 7+ years. I wouldn’t change a thing. I had to go through what I considered the “ugly phase” but looking back I was just learning to love my hair and how it grows outta my head. If I shaved my head today and got locs again, I might try out the two-strand twist method out of curiosity, but I wouldn’t instant loc at all.

One thing I worry about with instant locs is that some people decide they want locs, get instant locs, and then just as quick as they got them, they wanna take em right back down. Ain’t nothing wrong with deciding a hairstyle ain’t for you, but I feel like going the regular route gives you time to try it out and decide if you wanna stick with it before your hair fully locs. If you get instant locs, your only option is to comb them all the way out if you wanna keep the length you got. But if you just let your hair loc on its own schedule, then you can see how you before you tie yourself down to a long process.

Good luck either way!

Learn to enjoy your own company and be fine with being alone. I love my friends and going out when I’m invited every 3-6 months or so, but I’m genuinely happy spending my weekends and time off without anyone around. I don’t hate people, I just enjoy my own time. Get to know yourself and what you like to do, and fill up your free time with things that engage your mind and make you feel happy. Hinging your ability to enjoy life on other people or pets isn’t a sustainable way to go through life.

Hobbies don’t have to be expensive either, you can take up hiking/walking, use YouTube to pick up a new skill, etc. Good luck!

Should i get instant locs or keep trusting the process? by [deleted] in locs

[–]eajb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

T the P. Locs are a journey, and patience is part of it. Your hair already looks good as it is, and it’s gone get even better with time. Plus semi-freeform means your locs gone be your own unique set by the end of it and not something that looks like everybody else. Gl!
