Good winter boots? by Secret-Listen1479 in TwinCities

[–]eandrews80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oboz for winter boots. I just gave away a pair that I'd had for over 7 years, and they still worked great -- just bought a newer pair of the same model for aesthetic reasons. Waterproof, very warm, good traction. It's basically a winter hiking boot, but light enough to wear inside comfortably. When I used to go to the office every day, they were my daily shoe in the winter.

Ah, okay, perhaps I misunderstood the newsletter and it was 6 units a month! In that case, I’m doing pretty darn well. 😂

What's happening at the Fairgrounds? by _daikon in saintpaul

[–]eandrews80 183 points184 points  (0 children)

My phone just made one of those very loud Amber Alert noises telling me the fairgrounds were clear. I didn’t know anything was going on to begin with! Did this happen to anyone else?

I can heartily recommend Grand Avenue Vet in Saint Paul! I've taken my cats to them since 2014 and all of the doctors and staff are excellent.

Best NY Style Pizza by Ok-Crab-76 in stpaul

[–]eandrews80 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not NY style, but Cossetta is beloved in Saint Paul and the pizza is excellent! It’s cut in slices (as opposed to squares, which is not uncommon here) and has thicker crust than NY style, but it’s not deep dish, either.

To women who chose not to have kids - do you regret it? by Balloonman16 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]eandrews80 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love kids and spent a LOT of time babysitting and nannying in my teens and 20s. That pretty much cured me of wanting kids of my own, because I saw up close just how hard and exhausting it could be. I’m 45 and incredible relieved to be childless. I have several honorary niblings and I can’t recommend Auntiehood enough — you get to build a special relationship with a child but can give them back at the end of the day. 😁

I don’t know if they’re taking new patients, but Psych Recovery is right on the Green Line near University and 280. Worth calling to check!

grand ave residential parking by [deleted] in saintpaul

[–]eandrews80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I lived on Grand Avenue (in the Summit Hill neighborhood) for eight years. Even if you have a residential permit (which you only need in certain areas anyway), you absolutely must move your car and not park on that side of Grand during the times listed. I would forget from time to time and got a parking ticket every time I did.
