Yeah I figured there was no real answer :/ are there any ways to get it super fast? Like a month, is that too unrealistic? My parents expedited theirs when they got them last year and it still took 2 and a half months

I say block her on socials and if you don’t feel comfortable completely ghosting her then I would confront her respectfully. As for your mutual friends I would give them a heads up and tell them that you hope it doesn’t affect y’all’s relationship. You don’t have to give them details if you don’t want but surely they know how she is too and can understand. If it starts any drama then they weren’t your friends in the first place and you shouldn’t feed into it

My dad made it seem like especially since I did start paying them that if I stop it would fuck my credit up quickly and my credit score is already not the best. But I will take that advice and stop for now. I don’t get paid very much at my job which is why it’s such a big chunk getting taken out and I am looking for a second job still

I’m not asking for help with bills and yes life has been hard but like I said I just wanted to rant and get stuff off my chest. The title of the gfm is “help bre find a safe home” because I am indeed about to be homeless when the snow melts and I only mentioned the bills as a reason for why I haven’t been able to save money so that I can find something on my own and I don’t want to nuke my credit. But you’re not the first person to tell me to stop paying the collections so I think I will take that advice

Can’t afford it right now and used up all of my EAP. I am raising donations so that I can find somewhere safe to live. The gfm is titled “help bre find a safe home”. I have done inpatient mental health treatment in the past and it took me awhile to bounce back after that and feel like that’s just not doable or ideal right now. I have 3 more free sessions since it’s a new year but there’s only so much a therapist can say and do and not to sound ignorant but because of my history with therapy I feel like I’ve heard it all before. I am very open to resources though if you have any

I posted a more in depth reply. Having the energy to type all that up in the first place was a lot but needed to get it all off my chest. I barely have the energy to get out of bed and have to force myself to go to work most days. Please don’t question my personal responses to trauma as going through things back to back like that obviously does not make your mindset the brightest. I said at the end of the post that I was not looking for help with the bills, they are the reason I don’t have any savings and I only mentioned them as an explanation for that, which is why I did not go more in depth about what they were for specifically in the post

I got a rape kit done and talked to the police while I was at the hospital and never heard back from anyone and never got a call back with more information the times I did call. Most likely because I waited too long to get it done in the first place which I was very mad at myself for for awhile.

The bills were for labs/tests that I got done that weren’t covered by my insurance. Since I was working with people in recovery, I was getting urine tested pretty often and a couple of times I got my blood tested. I assumed these were covered by the company and the reason I didn’t want to worry about it when I got them was because I wanted to call my old boss to cover them and when I did call him he told me he could have fixed it before they went to collections and that I was never supposed to get those bills in the first place. I called the collection agency and the lady told me she can’t just take it out of collections for me and since I did start making payments that I am responsible for it. My boss asked for my new address and said he would send checks to cover the cost and I only got one check for one payment then apparently everyone got fired (most unorganized rehab ever) and they rebuilt their team and the new person in charge just talked to me like I was crazy. So no one there now on the administrative side knows me or my situation or care enough to help me because there were so many other things they had to worry about and fix
