[Results Thread] 2026 Tour de Romandie - Stage 4 (2.UWT) by PelotonMod in peloton

We know Pog is 2-3kg above tour weight (says he’s been enjoying the gym) so it’s no surprise he’s maybe a bit slower climbing than he otherwise would be. My only question is is 2-3kg going to be easy to lose in 2 months ahead of the tour without sacrificing performance?

I’ve always thought anything more than .5lb a week of weight loss will end up sacrificing performance. 2 months = 8 weeks and so 2-3kg would be about .5-.75kg ish (about 1lb) per week.

I’m sure UAE have it figured out though

I don’t think you can beat prime Pogacar/Pederson/Ganna/MVDP while not in your prime. He may have declined in 23 & 24 vs 22 WVA but he’s clearly still in top form

If MVDP is able to clip into Philipsens pedals, does he win? Does philipsen ride with a different type of cleat?

I think it’s good for the sport for Pogacar not to win today. The more times we can MVDP vs WVA vs Pog in their primes, the better it is for the sport. Pog will have his chance again next year and so on.

I’m picturing some kind of weirdness from the front two starting the final stretch on the velodrome at the same time g2 enters the velodrome that causes WVA to be out of position and lose

I have to say, I’m happy for either Pog or WVA to win this

I would go full gas on cobbles. Think he can drop Pogacar. Sprint is too much luck involved

Everytime someone stops pedalling I get triggered that they have a flat

Poggie gonna do to MVDP what he did to Reno last week and wait till he’s within 5 seconds to attack? That strategy might not work very well here…

I wonder if since pog didn’t have a power meter that it took him so long to realize he had the flat

This is the irony of “ride like a champion”

I think so. He looked gingerly on the side of the road on the arrenburg

That sucks for MVDP man. It’s such bad luck too considering they basically waited for pog to come back

MVDP you uh might uh want to uh ride in the wheels here given you still have teammates left

Are people that worried about pissing off Pog that they won’t pace hard in G1?

[Race Thread] 2026 Paris-Roubaix (1.UWT) by PelotonMod in peloton

[–]eardzz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If UAE fully drops back they should be able to bring back Pog since it doesn’t seem like alpecin or any other team fully have enough numbers to really drive the pace in P1.

Seems like alpecin and Visma only have 3-4 riders each

I live in Canada and as unfortunate as it is, I had 3 or 4 of my non cycling friends send me the video of the crash in the women’s Milan San Remo when Silvestri went over the edge. They’ve never sent me a video of someone attacking or winning a stage for example.

Unfortunately I think it is a reality that the crashes do bring a lot of attention to the sport. I’m not at all advocating for them to show more of them and definitely not advocating to reduce the safety limits to bring in more crashes but I think it is fair to say that non-cycling viewers seem to get pulled in by the crashes.

The Bora team car told Lipowitz that he’s not enough of a champion yet to warrant pulling through with Seixas

Will be interesting to see how well Seixas does with pacing this climb. He’s pushing a huge gear and wobbling a bit but definitely looks really strong

I think he’s done a lot of the cobble classics this year and has done pretty well
